Some people think I have a dog bed fetish with how often and how many dog beds I buy for my pups. One is a golden retriever the other is a basset hound/putbull mix.
Let's talk about the how the dogs prefer these: My dogs will always pick the shredded memory foam beds given the choice between even the Brindle single slab memory foam version much less any of the ones from Petsmart of Petco.
These are more capable of being molded into the perfect nest for my dogs. The pitbull mix in particular likes to fluff these up and mold them to his preference, which is something that can't be done with the single slab memory foam beds.
For me I love them not only because the dogs prefer them but also because of how darn easy they are to clean! Unlike many other beds I've had where you have to perform a lot of work to get all the cushions out in order to clean the cover. There are others which have little walls that have to be extracted and then replaced just right or the form of the bed doesn't get put back together easily.
And some beds are not very water resistant. When the dogs eat their treats on the bed the slobber could seem through and make the inner stuffing yucky.
With these beds the outer cover has put up a good fight against the worst my dogs could throw at it without letting anything seep through to the inner foam. To clean the cover it is one zipper, pull out the inner lining and the inner foam core comes out in a single piece that is a piece of cake to put back in once the cover is cleaned.
The complaint I have is they can get stinky more easily than some other beds I've had. It's a good thing they are easy to clean because I tend to clean them twice as often as other beds. Still, when I moved to a new house one of the first things I did was buy a bed for each room.
Overall, our dog likes the bed and it seems comfortable. However, the fabric really is not forgiving when it rains or is wet outside- takes a long time to dry and my dog won't lay on it until it dries. We tend to remove the cover and wash it with situations like this and it really does clean up pretty well. There's also a few tags on the bed which my dog really enjoys chewing on. We've done a good job hiding them from him but if he sees them, he'll instantly start chewing!
Purchased this about 9 months and they weren't cheap. The zipper on one of the two we purchased pulled apart exposing the memory. Unfortunately way past the return window. Would not buy again based on how it held up.
This bed is super comfy. We have a 70lb German shepherd and on her previous bed she would toss from one side to the next often. I could tell she was uncomfortable. As soon as we bought this bed you could see that she is alot happier. She gets denned at night and in this bed even when we let her out in the morning she lays in bed for a little while. Super happy with this purchase. Would definitely buy again whenever needed.
Chew proof isn't ever a term that should be tossed around when it comes to dogs, but the bed seems stout and the seams are good. You can easily pull the bedding out and wash the cover, if need be, and the fit in our kennel was good.
