Love the album but when the cd arrived it was open and not sealed as CDs normally are. The case was marked and it does not look like new. I am not impressed and only auto rip was provided I would return it !
A change of style for Russell Watson and I wasn't too sure about it at the first playing but I now enjoy every track and play the whole disc through each time. My wife is the real RW fan but I am listening to him more than she is these days! I would say this disc should be part of every Russell Watson fan's library!
I have always enjoyed listening to Russell Watson. He has a great voice and I admire him so much for overcoming such traumatic illnesses and continuing to sing and delight his many fans. He continues with his wonderful voice on "Anthems" - I particularly like his rendition of "Abide with Me" and "Danny Boy" but there were one or two disappointments about this particular CD. "Land of Hope and Glory" is not his own singing (I don't think he features at all in it) and, rather than recite Kipling's "If..." to the music of Elgar's Nimrod, why did he not sing "We shall win the Day" which he has performed brilliantly before. Overall, however, I would still recommend this item to Russell's fans.
I have a number of Russell's CDs and he continues to amaze me with his different voice levels in every one he produces. Very few voices I could listen to continuously and even know most of the songs and arias to sing along to.
