Generally I expect that a monitor, irrespective of manufacturer, will last longer than 60 days. Turns out in this case, 1 out of 2 has chosen to fail on the 41st day of its lifespan.
Failed 27B1H will be returned to AOC at my cost. Which is a shame because the shipping is $60 to Sydney. For that price, I could almost throw out this one and buy another, given they're $240 each, at time of purchase. I will contact the dealer on Amazon and attempt to get them to start a replacement request but ultimately it shouldnt be me that's paying for a warranty return and such a short lifespan is unacceptable.
On a better note, the 2nd monitor is humming along nicely. It presents a great picture for basic web design work and at such a low cost, its hard not to recommend it. Unfortunately, this experience has soured my opinions of such cheap monitors at this price point and I'd be more inclined to recommend the HP Elite 273E for an extra $60 as the replacement warranty is on the spot, in your own home.
