I actually have a much larger version protecting my electronic shelf which contains large screen TV, cable box to DVD players, one DVD recorder, and the wireless router. Several times with mere lightning strikes and one tornado electricity has gone out. In short outages, everything just keeps running. And longer outages I have time to turn off the equipment normally. During brownouts, I get a quickie Beep and it still keeps moving.
Now you say why I got such a small version. The reason for this is that I now have several spread around the house to cover fluorescent lamps that have a hard time recovering from blackouts/brownouts. I also have medical equipment, which needs to run continuously.
In the larger machine, even though it said the battery was supposed to just have a like a three to five-year life, It lasted much longer. And I was able to order batteries online. Yet if I was in a hurry, we have a local battery store.
I am sure the warranty is good and I also signed up for it in the proper time. However, given the price of the equipment, it might be just as easy to toss it out, if the equipment fails and get a new one.
Being a little skeptical, I did pull the plugs just to make sure they were working.
I did purchase mine that the green option. However I really have no intention of using it as the only ones available all had that option. I am sure some people will find it useful.
Bottom line, what is peace of mind worth?
