Great device especially if you have a newer computer with thunderbolt or USB-C with video output and charging capabilities on top of data transfer. The RJ45 ethernet port allows you to use LAN which should increase give you faster speeds than WiFi--since most new laptops have gotten rid of ethernet ports. This also has pass-through charging that is fantastic since you can charge your laptop (if supported) and run peripherals requiring a heavy power load. It is compact, slim and sleek, and does not run hot. My only disappointment is I can't use the HDMI port because my laptop doesn't support video output from the USB-C port. However, you can't fault the hub but when I do upgrade my laptop it will come in handy.

My only complaint, and why I gave it four stars, setup was a bit of a hassle. I got the dreaded "USB device not recognized" issue and it took me some time to figure out the issue. Not all people should run into this issue but some will have this issue. Don't go looking for a firmware upgrade and just google the issue for multiple troubleshooting steps that should work.

Despite the issue, at $50 I do highly recommend this device for anyone with a USB-C port especially a new laptop. Furthermore, I contacted customer support and they got back to me within less than 24 hours, which is a great turnaround. I will update this post in the future if there are any worthwhile developments to report.

HDMI port works perfectly under Linux (Fedora 32 / ThinkPad x270)

I'm always a little worried about Linux compatibility with devices, particularly video over USB-C as that's relatively new, but thankfully this handly little hub gives me the ability to easily drive a second external monitor, while also offering wired ethernet and a few extra USB-A ports (there's never enough, am I right?). As a power source, I plugged in a RAVPower GaN 90w USB-C charger and the hub passed through the power to my computer with no problem. I also plugged a four-port USB hub into one of the USB 3.1 ports, and it happily drove my keyboard, mouse, wireless headset dongle, and web cam. Fedora 32 recognized it out of the box, no tweaking or setup required. The USB-C cable that you connect to your computer is short, but that suits its use as a mobile device, and it comes with a handy little carrying case that you can tuck the cable into. I worry a little about the cable wearing at its connection point to the hub over time, but a 24 month warranty helps reduce that concern. I'm happy with the purchase!

Best USB-C Adapter for 16 Inch Macbook Pro

I did a TON of research on the best solution for a monitor, ethrnet, power pass through, SD, and USB A and this is the one. Most only deliver 60w, and even the $350 thunderbolt 3 ones only deliver 85w. This does 100w minus the adapter which uses 12 for a total of 87w when using the standard power adapter that came with the laptop. I was told the battery would drain if using less than the 96w it came with, and so far it has not been the case. I haven't pushed it to heavy video editing, but i'll run multiple programs at a time like anydesk, safari, music, photos all at the same time with full brightness and the battery stays 💯 ethernet clocks 900mb down on my 1gb plan which was normal on my straight ethernet set up on my old computer. No glitching with the computer not recognizing the device, plugging in external hard drive or SD works flawless. doesn't seem to get super hot either. My only wish was the cable could have been longer, but I bought a female to male usb c extender for $15 and performance is fully there on all fronts! Excellent product! 10/10 would recommend.

This Aukey hub has greatly enhanced my ThinkPad T490. I connected it to the Thunderbolt port, and the Aukey's green light turned on immediately. Everything was smooth sailing after that. No driver was installed. The temperature of the hub is cool, and only slightly warm when used heavily. File transfer to an SDXC card (512 GB Sandisk Extreme) was very fast. The included pouch is high quality two-tone sewn cloth. With this hub, I don't need to buy a ThinkPad docking station.

I been looking for such a perpheral for when I wish to leverage Samsung Dex. Though it is not official among the list of options for this product, I can confirm that it works!

Those interested, ensure you connect all cables (power delivery (USB-C), ethernet, hdmi to external display, wired keyboard/mouse*) to the hub first then connect your Samsung Dex compatible device.

*If you have a BT keyboard/mouse then simply ensure the power delivery (USB-C), ethernet and hdmi cables are connected first then connect your device:)
