To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Works okay. Have another brand in use elsewhere that works better. Audio tends to lag at times which requires a reset. Not the biggest pain but not what I want to have to do. Luckily both devices are easily accessible.
The product works OK. It doesn't transmit as far a advertised. I get a ton of interference and I'm maybe transmitting 30 feet. I has to go through one wall. I can't get the remote repeater to work. One it is the best for the money it was a good solution.
When it works, it's good. Some compression artefacts are visible, but it's fine for a kitchen or bedroom TV. However, often when you turn the TV on, the receiver is dead, or the audio is out of sync, requiring a reboot. I have 2 of these sets (2nd gen) and they both exhibit the same problems. This makes it very un-user-friendly for guests, kids etc I've asked Actiontec support about this and the response is always "There's a new firmware coming soon which will fix this and add 1-to-2 multicast". It's been a year now, and there's been no update to the 18.104.22.168 firmware
They are hit and miss. When they work they are great, when they don't they are very hard to find the problem. Their Customer Service is very nasty, they talk DOWN to you as if you are stupid for calling. If it were not for the fact that they are the only thing I have found to accomplish a task that I need them for, I would not recommend them. The most common problem is that they transmit video (in HD very well) but they do not sync with the audio all the time. Which is the problem, they are not repeatable, and the customer disservice department cost me another device as what they told me to do caused a power spike on another device and I had to replace the other device and it did not solve the problem with this one. They are very much "Line of Sight", not even around a corner with the set I have. They also sometimes will fludder the video for no known reason and then stop and work. I am only trying to get 50 to 80 feet out of them so I don't think I am going beyond expectations..Think real hard before you purchase.
The system works. As long as you don't mind the daily "reboot" it will work just fine. I've run into IR issues lately where it no longer always transmits and is very intermittent which is extremely annoying. I've tried rebooting the entire system and sometimes it may work and sometimes not. When I originally received it the system always worked so it's possible the internal IR system is shot. Overall the system works great to transmit my cable from upstairs into my garage for afternoon cigar smoking.
This is a good product in theory but haven't been able to solve a lag time issue between audio visual. There is a delay and many times what is being viewed isn't in sync with the sound. I am open to the idea that there is a setting or adjustment we might need to make but can't determine how to do so.
This was quite difficult to set up and the instructions were not clearly written so that someone could just connect one here and one there. In frustration, I turned to Google to get better instructions.
Bought this so I could keep up with TV programs while cooking, but without installing another cable box in the kitchen; which is the room next to our den. It wasn't a 1 2 3 connect, but took extra time (2 weeks) to get the right size cords for my application. There is a delay in the audio and you have to keep the sound off on the second tv or else you get this annoying delay in the speech and you can still hear the audio from the first tv. I didn't want to put a second cable box in the kitchen because the tv is mounted high up on the wall. Financially, it's less than a wash. An extra box is $5 a month, plus the bother of wiring. We have to keep the system over 3 years to have it pay for itself, plus the cost of the cords. The cords provided were too short and it took 2 trips to get the right size. I'm not completely satisfied, but we have passed the point of no return.
Good HD picture quality but sometimes has connection issues! The video and or audio will not work, then you have to unplug and plug both transmitter and receiver to get it working! I would wait till they get it right...
