I usually find reading ‘cozy’ murder mysteries to be good clean fun with enjoyable storylines yet avoiding the violent and gory basis of so many of today’s unsavoury thrillers. I look for good writing style and I need to be entertained and excited by well-developed credible characters and well-structured plausible plots – and ‘Aged For Murder’ falls short.
The rambling story is weak and too much ‘chic-lit’, the two-dimensional characters are unreasonable and act illogically – they are not particularly attractive or even likeable. The main protagonist is pathetically mundane and the crises faced are tedious. For me ‘Aged For Murder’ has nothing about it, and I rate it as below average – hence 2-star rating.
