The new MPK Mini MKII is an ultra-compact keyboard controller designed to easily fit in the laptop-toting musician's backpack and still earn its spot on the desktop producer's crowded table space. For maximum portability, the MPK Mini MKII requires no software drivers or external power adapter for operation. It supports plug-and-play connectivity, features USB-MIDI, and powers up with a single USB connection to your computer. 

With an array of hardware controls, the MPK Mini MKII lets you record, compose, and perform with virtual instruments, effect plugins, and Digital Audio Workstations whenever inspiration strikes. It features 25 velocity-sensitive synth-action keys, a 4-way thumb stick for dynamic pitch and modulation manipulation, 8 backlit velocity-sensitive MPC-style pads, and 8 assignable Q-Link knobs. Plus, two banks expand the number of MPC-style pads to 16 for extended creative capabilities.

Questa AKAI MPK Mini MKII è una tastiera leggerissima e compatta.
Nel poco spazio che occupa racchiude l'essenziale: oltre ai 25 tasti, possiede 8 pad fisici (virtualmente 16 utilizzando i bank A/B), 8 potenziometri, 1 joystick per il pitch bend (che la differenzia dalla sua versione precedente).
Robusta nell'uso e dall'ottimo feeling, risponde bene a tutti i comandi.
Davvero pratico che con un solo cavo USB si possa alimentare e interfacciare con il pc.
Viene subito rilevata dal pc, potendo quindi già usarla fin da subito. Per configurare i potenziometri e i pad però, è necessario lavorare un pò sul proprio DAW.
Io uso Studio One 3 ed è possibile impostare ogni singolo pad e potenziometro via software con una facilità estrema.
Un pò meno semplice è riuscire a scaricare i software in dotazione: nonostante l'indiscutibile qualità di questi prodotti, mi sarei aspettato un accesso più immediato a queste risorse.
Se i software inclusi fossero stati più accessibili e se il prodotto costasse un po di meno, avrei dato 5 stelle.
Concludendo, l'acquisto di questa tastiera si sta ripagando fin da subito, la consiglio a chi vuole inoltrarsi nel mondo dell'home recording o a chi piace il mondo della musica elettronica e non solo!
