Product description
About the Author
Jonathan Emmett worked as an architect before becoming a children's author and novelty book designer, which may explain the inspiration behind Alphabet Street, a novelty book in the form of a street elevation.
Jonathan is the author of over sixty books, including Bringing Down the Moon and The Princess and the Pig and his work has been translated into over thirty different languages. He likes building things and taking things apart, playing games and solving puzzles and letting his imagination run riot.
You can find out more about Jonathan and his books at his website: scribblestreet.co.uk
Ingela P Arrhenius graduated from art school in the early 90s and has been working as an illustrator ever since. At first, she worked in advertising and magazines, but her focus over the past ten years has been on products and books.
Ingela has created patterns for fabrics, wallpaper and stationery, as well as packaging and home accessories. She has also collaborated with several toy producers around the world and her love of retro style, typography and colour is reflected in all her work. Ingela lives in Stockholm with her husband (an author) and two sons.

daughter's favourite

An excellent book, primarily because of its construction! What's not to love... cute little shops and apartments behind the doors and then turn it round and there lies a long concertina village, with lots to see to aid discussion with little ones. It can also be used as a backdrop top play with figures. My only criticism for UK readers, would be for alphabet letters to match phonetically to animals.

Difficult words for pre-schooler
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 November 2019Verified Purchase
Love idea of book but words should be much more simple rather that A for aardvark?? My sons a pre-schooler thought words would have been A for Apple 🍎 etc style of book is great though.

What a great book!

Bought this for our daughter recently to mix up her book selection during lockdown. She’s only 16months but she’s demanded we read it several times a day so far - I expect it will need to get bought again at some point! Lovely concept And loads of recognisable illustrations for her to point out.

lovely book

Bought as a gift for someone so I only had chance for a quick look. Very nice imaginative way to display a book. There was a tiny tear in the cardboard around the book but this luckily didn't affect the actual book.
