Holds headphones securely. There are non-skid/non-marking pads on the bottom of the stand. Doesn't mark up table or headphones, so all in all, good inexpensive stand.
Well made and easy to assemble. No tools needed, nor was any hardware even provided. No screws or bolts needed. Vertical post and base are threaded to screw into each other. Plastic top piece snaps into vertical post.
The base could be heavier ideally, and the post a couple inches taller. I modified my headphones with a hair tie to make them work with this stand. Don’t know if I’ll use it regularly though.
The one big issue is because it’s so light and the base is not weighted, you can just plop your headphones down on their with one hand. It takes two hands to use this stand without knocking anything over. That is a bit of a dealbreaker compared to what I was looking for in a headset stand. However, if your headset doesn’t have the absurdly long top structure of the audio-technicas, yours will probably not be too tall for this stand. Audio-technicas have a weird design where the part that rests on your head is two spring loaded pieces, but the structure that connects the two sides of the headset is two plastic bars that rise mayve 3 inches above where the headset rests againsy your head. Because of this design, neither the upper structure or the headrest is suitable for hanging from this headset stand. However, after connecting the springloaded headrest pieces with a hair tie, the headphones sit on my head more securely, and they can now hang from this stand without the springloaded headrest pieces splitting apart under the weight of the headset (plus TrackIR and Antlion ModMic). The hair tie holds those springy headrest pieces together so that the headset can hang from the stand at a high enough position to keep it above desk surface height, if that makes sense. Otherwise you’d have to hang it from the long plastic rods that connect the left and right sides, and those structures sit up so high that it makes his stand too short.
TL;DR - buy it it you don’t have Audio-technicas and if you don’t need a HEAVY headset stand with a weighted base.
I currently have my Sony's hanging on them and they look great. The top part of the stand where the band rest has a nice slight curve downward to them which goes with the curve of my headband. With the slight curve, it doesn't cause my headphones to stretch outwards and mess up my favorite headphones.
They included a nice cellphone ring with the product and a thank you card which is a nice touch. I'll be buying another stand for my wife's teaching headset later this week. So I certainly recommend this headphone stand if you're looking to not break the bank but also have something worth buying.
