These do not freeze flat and it's also challenging to get all the air out. These bags are small, and I freeze four ounces at a time, so these aren't for me. (Maybe colostrum or 2oz servings would be best.) These are also overpriced for a a bag. You can get 50 or 60 bags for 12-15 dollars. Scratching my head as to what is so special about these. Anyway, won't be buying again.
I love these bags. I first received a few bags from the hospital but I ran out and instead decided to try the Medela bags, which were more pricey. After trying both, I decided to switch back to the Ameda bags. The Ameda bags are smaller so I was able to fit more bags in my freezer. I also love the pour feature. It makes it much easier to rip and pour into a bottle. Unlike the Medela bags, they do not have a the rip feature, only the ziplock, which made it difficult to open. I highly recommend these bags for the price!
These are fine, but for the price I would just go with a non-name-brand. I bought two boxes and I've had to pour milk out and into another bag about 1/3 of the time because the "zipper" seems to have a hole in the area where it ends into the bag and the milk drips out through the seam on the side. I bought a box of the the generic Kroger kind and haven't had that issue. When these work they seem to work well, it's just a pain to not have them be reliable.
I've been using the Ameda bags for 3 months now. I don't have much problem with them BUT I'm noticing that some of them do not seal all the way. I found this out after defrosting a bag of frozen (first time to use frozen) and it was spoiled even though it was in a deep freezer. I have been double checking the bags and at least 1 bag per day doesn't seal properly. I end up throwing the leaky bags away because it's not safe.
Cons: Bags do not seal as well as they should. The measurements is off by about 1/2-3/4 of an oz. Somewhat difficult to attach to the adapter to pump straight into the bag (hard to get off after pumping without tearing. Can't put bag down after pumping.
Pros: Sturdy. Pour spout. Stand up nicely in fridge/freezer for easy storage.
These are the only milk storage bags that I have found that you can both pump directly into and pour out of a handy tear-open pour spout on the side. This is great because its way easier to pour the milk out and more sanitary. The bad thing about them is that the measurements are very approximate (however it says this on the bags), especially if you have a small volume because the bottom part of the bag won't flare out with less than about 3 oz inside. Also the bags will stand on their own as well, given again that there is enough volume. One other little annoying thing that keeps these from being great is that they don't seal as well and as easily as I'd like. With a few improvents these would be awesome, but they fit my lifestyle well enough as-is, very convenient.
Bought to replace free Obed my insurance had already sent me. I have nothing to compare them to since these are the only ones I have used but they have worked perfectly for me. I pump exclusively. These are easy to pour and I haven’t noticed any leaks.
