No instructions were included in the box. Not being an electric guy, it would have been helpful. I did find a video online so it wasn't a big deal. The most frustrating thing was trying to attach the switch using the locking nuts included. The plastic on the frame of the switch didn't grab the locking nuts with enough grip to keep them from spinning. I had to take a screw driver and wedge it between the nut and the frame so the screws could be tightened.
Once that was done, I was able to tighten and secure it. Works good so far.
This battery switch seemed to be pretty good quality and it did it's job when it was just sitting there not being used. After actually turning it off and on over a period of about a month is quit working. It started sending a short notification to my LifePo4 batteries and shutting them down. Replaced with a switch that had a much more robust build so lets see how it does.
This was a replacement for a smaller amperage box that overheated and melted. I thought that this larger amperage box would be a quick replacement, but the cable connector bolts were a larger diameter, so I had to change out the cable connector ends. The next thing that should not of happened was that the through bolts that held the box together were too long. That leaves you with 2 options. space out the backing plate from the mounting surface or cut off the bolts. This should of been a 30 minute install, but instead it took 3 hours.
No too bad, easy instal; I am not 100% on how water proof it is; would like to see a little bit better Water protection (perhaps a seal or full wraparound cover once wires are secured) but seems ok and simple to instal
The instruction booklet was clearly made in another country very cheaply. There was a line in it that said “enter text here.” After looking at the design further, I would have chosen a different one that was easier to make water tight since this is for an outdoor install. We were able to make it work, but it was with a lot of frustration.
