Bought 3 of these. Went for XL version for extra battery life so that I didn't have to recharge them too often. I think this was a good decision made. After about 5 months use, one has 60% battery left, one has 48%, and 30%. The one with 30% is used most often - installed at the front door with spot light at night. Friends who bought "6-months" battery life Eufy camera have already charged less than 4 months.
There was a significant lag, about 10 - 20 secs, for live view - this was when connecting directly to home wifi. Apple Home app or Google Home app both had issues streaming live due to the lag. I might be our home wifi is too congested so I decided to get an Arlo SmartHub, which solved the lagging issue! Now it would take 2-5 seconds to view live, which is acceptable. Apple Home app live view works great, almost no delay when viewing your own movement through live view.
Bought the Arlo SmartHub from local shop and it is recommended if you are going to invest in more Arlo devices such as Doorbells, etc.
I decided to wait until the included Arlo Secure trial subscription expired. I didn't use any of the smart features included in the subscription, but I liked the different type of motion detection, such as person, mention, or animal. Now without the subscription, it is just motion, and I'm fine with it. I installed a USB thumb drive on the back of the Arlo SmartHub to record locally.
I have restarted the Arlo SmartHub and re-synced the cameras about 10 times due to unresponsive camera issues, which I think is acceptable. I'm a tech person, seeing the "useless" support from Arlo, and can find a solution in most cases when there is an issue with the cameras.
