From the manufacturer
A Landmark Controller Keyboard
KeyStep is our award-winning and much-loved controller keyboard, one that you don’t just play - you discover new musical ideas with. KeyStep isn’t just a controller, it’s also a unique, highly interactive 64-step 8-note polyphonic sequencer.
KeyStep is perfect for controlling hardware MIDI synthesizers, as well as analogue CV equipment, and virtual instruments via USB. But synchronise KeyStep to a DAW or drum machine, and you also have a live, interactive 64-step sequencer allowing you to explore a never-ending stream of musical ideas, without stopping.
KeyStep is more than a controller: It’s a source of endless inspiration.
Connects to Everything
KeyStep gives you access to 32 custom-designed slim-keys, also found on our much-loved and award-winning MiniLab MKII keyboard. Music Radar said: “We’ve tried a number of Arturia keyboards and the keybeds are excellent....the action is positive, quiet and feels robust.” KeyStep’s keyboard also provides velocity sensitivity and aftertouch, for complete expression.
Inspiring Sequencer and Arpeggiator
Not just a keyboard: KeyStep also helps you improvise and explore musical ideas with its on-board 8-note 64-step polyphonic step sequencer. KeyStep also contains a fully featured arpeggiator with 8 modes to creatively arpeggiate the notes you play, in sync with your DAW, external MIDI and analogue CV/Gate equipment.
Chord Mode, Touch Strips and CV Modulation
KeyStep features two capacitive touch strips, one providing classic pitch modulation, and the other providing expressive modulation. The modulation strip also provides an additional control voltage via the dedicated ‘Mod’ CV output on the rear - which can also turn key velocity and aftertouch into voltages, too. The included Chord Mode lets you create and play classic one-finger chords, and can be combined with the sequencer for complex, inspiring results.
Full size MIDI in and out, combined with pitch, gate and assignable modulation CV outputs, as well as bi-directional USB connectivity (also providing power, for total convenience) means KeyStep will synchronise to and enhance nearly any equipment in your studio, be it sound module, synth, drum machine or software. Finally, a sustain pedal input with auto-sensing polarity means KeyStep can control piano modules and virtual instruments easily.

Voilà un produit conçu en France par une sympathique boîte grenobloise.
Le mieux reste quand même de fouiller un peu sur le net à la recherche du "Arturia Keystep 37" pour avoir des présentations sous toutes les coutures par des musiciens chevronnés.
I have been producing music (non professionally) for over 3 years now. I have always used my keyboard as my MIDI input device. I know basic-intermediate music theory and can mess around pretty well on the piano. I did NOT REALIZE how useful it would be to have a MIDI keyboard during my production sessions. I love it!
Here are my Pro's and Con's. Keep in mind these are through the eyes of a beginner when it comes to any kind of major hardware.
Compact size and very light
37 Keys is the perfect amount for me
Arpeggiator is really nice and pretty intuitive
Keys have a pretty nice weight
Chord function is fun and the strum feature helps add a lot of depth and character to simple progressions
Design is very pleasing to look at.
Love the touch pitch and mod wheel on the sides.
Spacing between keys can make it hard to play wider chords. (fingers get stuck between black keys)
A little challenging to get the hang of the sequencer and use it efficiently.
Overall, amazing product at an amazing price. I love the device and will be using it for a VERY long time routinely during all of my production sessions. From the perspective of a beginner, I would wholeheartedly recommend this MIDI keyboard to all!
