The metal tab that you can move allows you to size this slip lead to your dog where it can tighten, but it cannot choke them or damage their trachea which is very important and a feature I have not seen before.
It then has the usual tab to slide to prevent the leash from having too much slack on the neck where a dog could back out of it.
The handle is padded and comfortable and the large size leashes come with a poop bag dispenser and a metal o-ring right on the hand to connect the bag dispenser to, also a very nice feature.
These leashes are well thought out and executed, a good value for the money. Some other slip leads we have used are too soft and fold in on themselves when trying to loop a dog or too stiff and rigged not allowing the leash to function properly. These seem to be the perfect medium, stiff enough to lasso but pliable enough for proper movement.
I believe all dog owners and even more so those who board dogs in their home should have slip leads in case of emergency. We were awoken in the middle of the night because of a fire. When you have literally minutes to get out of your home, you do not have time to fumble with clasps and hooks on panicking dogs. Also, a dog who is usually perfect on lead might be so upset and worked up that they pull back on their collar when they never have before. Our dogs are naked in the house so this is a necessary time saver. These leashes are the quickest and safest way to secure your dog in an emergency.
