Bastion of the Reaper: The Last Reaper, Book 10 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Halek Cain has one chance to save everyone.
The Alon Empire has redoubled its efforts to conquer Yansden and strip the planet bare. Their massive fleet devours every star system it encounters. They demand total surrender and show no mercy.
The Neverseen are rising from the forests, oceans, and desert wilderness and thirsty for blood. Cain and his allies have stopped both of these enemies once, but their backs are to the wall, and they must escape or die. Recently acquired from the ancient ruins in the planet’s interior, the Black Phoenix grows more powerful every day, draining Cain and X-37 of resources even as it gives them the tools to win battles and find Maglan.
But winning might kill them both in the end.
Will Cain master himself and his cybernetic modifications to run the blockade? Can he find Maglan and liberate one Sansein in return for an alliance that will protect the exodus fleet forever? Find out in the 10th entry to the critically acclaimed and international best-selling series The Last Reaper by Scott Moon and USA Today best-selling author J.N. Chaney.

worried that something will happen to all the people that he cares most about. In fact he has never had so many people in his life who he cares about and who care about him. The Alon are the most ruthless force that he has ever come across and it becomes obvious that Yansden needs to be evacuated sooner rather than later. He still has to get to Maglan and free the Sansein Mother while fighting her captor. Before he can think of doing that he comes face to face with the Alon emperor and is forced to allow Elise to become a hostage while the emperor’s cousin goes with him. To complicate matters he then finds himself in the presence of the Sansein Shadow Council and only escapes with his life when they accept that he is genuine in his wish to free the Mother.
Battles on land and battles in space! A good space opera. Is there more ahead for the Last Reaper? We’ll obviously have to wait and see.

The ending came quick, much to my surprise, as some.books seemed the drag on(the 3*s) and some of the side stories have been left completely open ended. What's happening to Path, or Cain's mother and sister, did Honor survive, did he go back to Alon
Even with all of these unanswered questions, the series was a real rollercoaster ride of survival, conquest, winning and losing.
For those that enjoy a fast paced high octane adventure, this is a series of books well worth reading. If you find the odd book slow as I did, stick with it, it really is worth the effort
Spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors in every book but it was still a good enough opera to keep me until the end! The point is, if this is your livelihood and/or craft, you need to excel at it and do better! There is no excuse for any of this. Do better, authors. Do better!
(Yeah, I'm that grammar Nazi!)
Some space battles, some armed combat and plenty of action occurr....
