The waver does a good job of creating beach waves but it does leave a crease in your hair where the iron clasps. The heat on the iron is good but there's no way to avoid having that crease line if you want defined waves. As for the "wand" part of the iron. I have no idea what kind of beach waves the description is talking about. I have long hair and the wand literally didn't nothing but leave a weird crease line where the two parts come together. It doesn't curl your hair at all.
In my younger days my hair had beautiful waves , even curls with just a little product and air drying . Now in my 40's I have 2 choices . straight or a ponytail . In 20 minutes I can now have a head of beautiful waves giving me volume and style . I use the lowest temp as my hair is fine and thinning . Have only used waver as hair is not long enough for the curl option . My hair looks better than when I had natural waves .
It works pretty well and I like most of bedheads wavers, but this one got too hot for my very fine hair. I own this, the larger (deep wave) version, and the S shaped version of these wavers. I use a thermometer on every new heat related hair product I purchase as a precaution, this one read 50-60 degrees (F) hotter on the minimum setting than the other two. It styled my hair pretty well, but my hair did not like getting hit with that much heat. This product is probably fine for people with thicker, heat resistant hair, but fair haired folks may want to try the S shaped or deep waver instead.
I've been experimenting with creating waves and got bored with low tech air drying techniques, so this is great! Instant waves, when you want 'em. I have fine hair so I use this on the low setting, and it still works perfectly.
I use to have the blue one which lasted for yeaaaars. Until I went abroad and it broke due to different voltages. Bought this one and it’s even better! Perfect for shorter hair since it’s smaller than the blue version. & it’s Definitely more travel friendly just make sure to bring a converter. When closed it’s a bit too big to fix the top so I use a different small curling wand, it would suit longer hair though to create loose waves :)
