As the description says, it comes with 8 ports plus 2 USB charging ports. As you can see on my image, I have my board packed fully and that is with two "wider set" plugs as well - 1 which is the brick for the Amazon Echo Show and the other which is the power for the Sensibo. The power ports are slightly wider compared to a standard board, so you can fit a square plug and a regular plug side by side, but unfortunately it's not wide enough to fit two square plugs side by side.
I haven't had any surges with this particular board, but I have with past Belkin products, and their claims process was pretty simple. Just provide proof of the event, confirm that you were using the product as intended and they reimbursed me. We have had lightning storms in the area though, and no equipment has been damaged at all while on these boards.
The USB ports work well. They can charge my Samsung Galaxy 10" S6 Tab without any issue and I also run the 2nd one to a wireless charging dock. We have three of these boards in the house and love them.
Could be that the heater had a fault, but it's a mighty coincidence that it happened immediately with new power board, when it had been working fine with old power board.
Returned to my mostly (but not quite fully) working old powerboard.
The built in USB power is a bonus, which I use to charge my phone, over using my charger.
The spacing on the outlets, make it easier to have cords, and power packs plugged in at the same time.
Wish I had bought one of these ages ago. Glad I do have one now.
Has the power switch for the board sunk into the frame which is a thankful addition as it makes it a lot harder to accidentally flick when you don't mean to.
