I've used Biolage for many years before I switched to my most recent shampoo a few years ago. However, I've switched back to using this a couple times a week and it's been great. It does not smell rancid like some other dandruff shampoos at all. It smells nice. And, it works wonders!!
I am excited to see how my head continues to get better. Already, the bumps and things that I can pick at are gone, my head feels much better, and there does't seem to really be any build up like there was before. I'd highly recommend this along with the dandruff conditioner!!
Edit: I've now used this for several months, and I must say that I have noticed a dramatic improvement from where i was when I first noticed this. My scalp is nowhere near as itchy as it used to be, and I have seen a very large decrease of the amount of dandruff I see as well. It's nice not always feeling itchy and dry on my scalp. it also doesn't seem to have made my hair color fade either, which was a concern (since you don't want to pay a fortune for a good cut and color only to literally wash it down the drain). So, I would still highly recommend this wash and the conditioner that goes with it as they have been doing wonders for me!
With that being said there is a couple of things to note about this shampoo.
1. It does not dry out your hair like drugstore brand dandruff shampoo does.
2. It does coat your hair and weigh it down some. I don’t have to use conditioner to detangle my hair after washing with this (a rinse out, or a leave in). My hair type is 2C, fine, and not on the thick side. In fact, I washed it again today and I just applied a little coconut oil to my ends after combing with a wide toothed comb. The top of my head is weighed down some after washing (and again not using any kind of conditioner), so if you have really fine, or thin hair, that you don’t want going flat this might not work for you. I don’t wear my hair “curly” much, I just wash it and put it up so it this doesn’t bother me.
I think the reason for this is because the formula has mallow root extract on the ingredient list. This combined with silicones probably causes the coated heavy, and easy detangling feeling.
I personally really like this because it means I can spend less money on products and have less clutter in my shower. But, for people who find head and shoulders too drying (I am one of them) but have hair that weighs down easy, it might not be the ideal formula.
With that, I personally would not want them to change the formula too much for this reason, because I like not having to purchase conditioner as well.
It might work best matched with the conditioner that goes with it. I might try it just to see in the future. I also think it might have the potential to build up over time and a clarifying shampoo might be needed sometimes.
After trying this shampoo for 2 weeks, I found that my itching and bumps resolved.

FWIW, my dandruff (like most people's dandruff FYI) is caused by seborrheic dermatitis, which is an oiliness/fungal situation, not "dry scalp" like most people perceive.
Also is pretty good at other "fungus control" if you read about such things.
Meaning, "dandruff shampoo" in general is a fungicide.
I don't get dandruff, but for an itchy scalp this helps immediately when used symptomatically.
It also helps, strangely, with dry patches of skin on the nose or bridge. But don't leave it on the sensitive skin more than 30 seconds.
It's a bit too strong to leave it full concentrated.
