Arrived today, I’ve been playing my way through the book. TherE a lot of tunes I know, quite a few I don’t, but none so far are too difficult to have a stab at the melody without resorting to looking it up online.
A couple of the more familiar songs come with a variation on the usual melodies, which is fine by me. Nothing (so far) that I’ve found too difficult, even with my arthritic old fingers.

Songs:
- Abide with me
- Ah, holy Jesus
- All creatures of our God and king
- All hail the power of Jesus’ name
- All people that on earth do dwell
- All praise to You, my God, this night
- All the way my saviour leads me
- Amazing grace
- Am I a soldier of the cross
- A mighty fortress is our god
- And can it be that I should gain
- And did those feet in ancient time
- Angels from the realms of glory
- Angels we have heard on high
- Are you washed in the blood
- As with gladness men of old
- At the cross (Alas! And did my saviour bleed)
- Away in a manger
- Beautiful savior
- Beneath the cross of Jesus
- Be Thou my vision
- Blessed assurance
- Blest be the tie that binds
- Break Thou the bread of life
- Breathe on me, breath of God
- Christ arose (Low in the grave He lay)
- Christ the Lord is risen today
- Come, Thou almighty king
- Come, Thou fount of every blessing
- Come, we that love the Lord
- Come, ye faithful, raise the strain
- Come, ye thankful people, come
- Crown Him with many crowns
- Day is dying in the west
- Dear Lord and father of mankind
- Down at the cross (Glory to His name)
- Eternal Father, strong to save
- Fairest Lord Jesus
- Faith of our fathers
- Footsteps of Jesus
- For all the saints
- For the beauty of the earth
- Give me that old time religion
- Glorious things of Thee are spoken
- Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah
- Hark! The herald angels sing
- Heavenly sunlight
- He keeps me singing
- He leadeth me
- His voice as the sound of the dulcimer sweet
- Holy, holy, holy
- How firm a foundation
- I need Thee every hour
- I surrender all
- It is well with my soul
- Jesus, lover of my soul
- Jesus paid it all
- Jesus shall reign
- Jesus, the very thought of Thee
- Jesus, Thou joy of loving hearts
- Joyful, joyful we adore Thee
- Joy to the world
- Just as I am
- Leaning on the everlasting arms
- Lift up your heads, ye mighty gates
- Love divine, all loves excelling
- My faith looks up to Thee
- My hope is built on nothing less
- Nearer, my God, to Thee
- Near the cross
- Nothing but the blood
- Now thank we all our God
- O come, all ye faithful
- O for a thousand tongues to sing
- O holy night
- O little town of Bethlehem
- O worship the king
- Praise, my soul, the King of heaven
- Rock my soul
- Rock of ages
- Saviour, like a shepherd lead us
- Shall we gather at the river
- Silent night
- Swing low, sweet chariot
- Take my life and let it be
- The battle hymn of the republic
- The church’s one foundation
- The first Noel
- The old ruggged cross
- There is a fountain
- This is the day the Lord has made
- ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
- To God be the glory
- Wayfaring stranger
- We plough the fields
- What a friend we have in Jesus
- What child is this?
- When Israel was in Egypt’s land
- When I survey the wondrous cross
- When we all get to heaven

Don't expect to find all the original words to the songs , and maybe not even the original music.

Lots of Gospel tunes and easy to learn with this book, however I came across quite a few songs in particular that doesn't match the original song. So be careful if you want the original tunes.

Are they the right chords?
Reviewed in Canada on 3 August 2020Verified Purchase
This is a beautiful book and it is great how it has so many chords for the Ukulele to teach you. Unfortunately, the chords for the songs don't seem to line up with the versions I know. I'm still trying to figure out if they can work. I'll change this review later if I can actually play any of them.

Only First Verse has Chords, rest of verses Do Not have Chords! If you’re ok with that it’s great!

First what I strongly dislike about this and these types of books!!!
They give you the first verse with the Chords but then all the other verses are SOMEWHERE ELSE ON THE PAGE WITHOUT THE CHORDS!!
Maybe some 14 year old can memorize the chords or play them by ear but this 75 year old can’t.
AND they don’t print the “other verse” lines with enough room so you can write in the chords yourself!
Otherwise this is a wonderful book with great Old Hymns that many of us were blessed to grow up with.

This songbook is awesome.

I’ve been playing uke for a little bit now and I’ve been through a ton of songbooks and method books. This songbook is near perfect. Full lyrics, melody, tab, chord charts; it’s all here. Not to mention the easy-to-use formatting, large size, and wide assortment of music. I honestly wish songbooks came standard with all these features. The only “issue” I see is that it doesn’t have a plastic comb. It is difficult to keep the pages open while playing. It is independently published so I can definitely understand why there isn’t one. Besides that, I’m honestly really happy with this songbook and look forward to using it to sing and play for our Lord.
