Okay with the Sound Quality ,But not happy with HDMI cable connection

Bought this item recently. We are okay with the sound quality. But not fully satisfied for the price we paid.
HDMI cable not working at all. So have to rely on optical cable. This might be causing a compromise on sound quality. I couldn't figure out a way to communicate with the seller and also tried to contact Bose directly for something else. Long delay and eventually sent a message in their FB profile . They replied that I have to contact Bose directly via the call center. With the remote control , it does not display when you up and down the sound on display. So, in a nutshell, good product but poor & frustrating customer service . When you need a technical support or have questions, nobody is there to answer or rectify it.
Recently after 3 months of usage the RC was faulty.It took a while to get connected to Bose customer service team .But once connected , it was an easy process to get the replacement remote control.They have dispatched the item next day and we received it the day after. So satisfied with the excellent customer support. But still don't know why the first RC was faulty within a short period of time. Just wondering anyone has similar experience?
