The bed arrived very well packaged. It plumped up more then I expected within hours. Feeling it I was concerned that the sectioned / pocketed areas would not provide as much comfort as a bed with a more even surface. The dog took to it wonderfully though. It has been noticed that she is having better deeper sleeps. She seems more content and even in her mood. Its early to say how long this bed will last but everything seems good and reliable. I would purchase this again. Our dog is a doberman boxer large and muscular. I had some concern this bed in Large would not provide enough surface for her comfort. It does.
When I opened the package and unrolled this bed, my first thought was, "This bed is huge!" It arrives vacuum sealed, so it's flat and needs some time to plump up. However, my dogs didn't even give it much time to puff up before wanting to try it out. I bought the 46" x 28" teal bed, and there is more than enough room for my dogs to share. I have one 60 lb, one 55 lb, and one 50lb dog that all snuggle up on this bed together each day. I even had to try it out because the bed is so soft and super plush. My dogs sink down a little when they lie on it, but there's still ample cushion keeping them off the hard floor. The shredded foam is inside a white liner, and the outer cover can be removed for washing. The zipper slides easily, and the outer cover hides dirt and hair nicely. Please be aware that this bed is not meant to be indestructible. Those who gave this a low rating because it only lasted a few hours before their dog ripped it to shreds have a little bit more training to do. If you have a non-chewing furry friend in need of a super fantastic comfortable bed, I definitely recommend this product!
Well my dog Drusilla is of course getting older and she has been having issues with arthritis and some disc problems with her spine. She is on medication from the vets and that is helping a lot. I had my comforter on the floor to take to the dry cleaners and I noticed that before I took it in she had started to lay down on it. So I decided to try out a dog bed for her. She wasn't too sure about it at first BUT now she loves it!!! When I come home from work I find her sleeping soundly on it. And when I am on the sofa watching television I have it right next to me on the floor and there she is! The bed is just the right size for her and it is soft and still firm with just the right amount to give to it. I really like that the cover comes off to wash it. I found in doing my research that not all dog beds come with removable covers. That just doesn't seem to make sense. I got it at a really great price too. I highly recommend it. Whenever I buy something on-line I always research it pretty thoroughly before and I can tell you that this one is a real deal!
At first our greyhound just sniffed it and wasn't really sure about it. The whole first day she seemed to prefer to lay someplace else, but I bought the thing because we're going to need it for travel, so I moved her slumber ball into a room that she doesn't normally hang out in, and it wasn't long before she figured out that this thing was a fine place to sleep. It doesn't let her snuggle up and nest like the slumber ball, but you can see how she kind of melts off of it. I should mention that when I say it's good for the price, it was on sale for about half off the normal price. It would be acceptable at full price, but I'd be pickier about knowing how easy it will be to clean and all that.
Still trying to figure out how this doesn't cost so much more! We adopted an older (9-year old) Mastiff-mix who weighs about 85lbs. She LOVES this bed, and as an older dog seems to truly help her with stiffness. Also, we have removed it a few times to be washed and couldn't be easier.
Not sure what else to say about this bed, when it goes through the wash it effectively gets rid of any slobber/stains and looks good as new. We got the second-largest size (XL I believe) and there is still plenty of room on the bed for the dog when she is laying.
This replaces one of Brindle's more expensive 4" "solid" 28 in. x 46 in. memory foam beds that I bought almost 4 years ago and was beginning to look like a soup bowl even when neither of my Irish Setters was laying on it. The 52-pound dog that this was intended for seems to like it but she's 7-1/2 years old and I suspect that when she's older and arthritis sets in she's going to need a bed with more support than this one provides. In the meantime, she seems happy so I'm happy too. (By the way, a standard-sized crib sheet with elastic is perfect on top of the sturdy cover that's included with this bed. Much easier to remove and launder and the extra 6" in length doesn't really matter since the elastic keeps it in place.)
Update 3/30/17: After 9 months, the middle two "compartments" had clearly flattened out so I purchased a 5# bag of shredded memory foam to supplement the middle of this bed. It only took about 2 pounds to get the bed back up to where it should be and it was very easy to do since a zipper provides easy access to all 4 sections. The $35 investment in the 5# bag of shredded foam was obviously a good move since it will most likely extend the life of this bed indefinitely.
