They work perfect. I bought them to have addtional bungee cords on my kayak. Easy to install. First, burn a little bit the end of the cord. Second, introduce the cord into the ring. Third, put the hook at the end of the cord and pull the ring to the bottom part of the hook. See attached pictures for step by step.

I was apprehensive about these bungee hooks, but I've gotta say I'm impressed. My first attempt was brutal because the end of my bungee cord had swelled making it difficult. I clipped the cord back 1/2", and bomb we're in business!! Couldn't be easier, slid on compression sleeve on cord, put cord into hook, slid up sleeve.....DONE ! It took 30 seconds to assemble 2 custom cords. I pulled on them pretty good, then did a long pull for over a minute with some body weight. Nothing, not an mm of slippage. Highly recommend for custom cords. I am using 1/4" marine bungee cord, I melt the ends over a candle, to tighten up and frays, then assemble. If you apprehensive like I was, don't be, these are legit. The hook is pretty stout, but not a large gap, so don't plan on hooking anything thicker that 1/4" - 5/16" at the max. Hope this helps.
1.0 out of 5 starsDidn't Work For Me- pulled right out.

I used 1/4 inch Paracord Planet with these. It was a tight fit but I was able to "twist-push" it in (I even wrapped scotch tape around the end, and trimmed carefully as other reviewers suggested. Very tight all the way in to the end of the hook. Pushing the cap over the outside of the prongs was no easy feat (yes I made sure that the tapered edge faced away). But upon testing, it pulled right out with less than a pound of force. I wish you all the best of luck but I'm returning this bag of ten since I have zero use for these.

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat replacement part but instructions would be nice

Perfect replacement part. Instructions of how to get the bungee cord into the end would have been nice but we figured it out. Tightly wrap the end with tape (small amount [I used Scotch tape because it is not thick] so that you do not make it too bulky) then cut in the middle of the tape to keep the strands from splaying out and push into end while twisting. Take a minute or so but the method worked well.
5.0 out of 5 starsUsed with bungee cord to secure mosquito curtains to porch pillars

I have a great set of heavy-duty mosquito curtains. The site who sold them suggests using bungee cord and hooks to hold the curtains against the porch pillars in windy conditions. I purchased D-rings, hooks, and cord from Amazon. One D-ring at the top, one at the bottom. Attach the hooks to cord, then hook into the D-rings. They've been up more than a year (May 2018). No issues. No failures. The two parts can be a bit hard to connect, but it's good because they don't come apart.
I bought another set this year (July 2019) so the curtain is secured at every pillar. Works perfectly - no blowing curtains knocking over my stuff.
