Pedí este aroma y por alguna razón me llegó otro aroma dentro de la caja original.
So I will do my best to describe this scent and allow readers to form their own conclusions.
Burberry says this eau de toilette features a "blend of greens, nutmeg, and tonka bean," if that means anything to you.
I would say the predominant note is citrus. To me, this smells like something between a gin and tonic with a healthy twist of lemon -- and some herbicide.
Brit Splash is nowhere near as off-putting as the dreadful Axe body spray that so many urban youths seem to immerse themselves in, but neither in my opinion does it come close to the lovely Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna cologne that has long been my own favorite.
I would describe this eau de toilette as "bracing." And it keeps on bracing too. One squirt on the left side of my neck, another on the right -- and I'm guessing I could attract fruit flies many hours after application.
The bottle is quite handsome, at any rate. That counts for something!
So if you like citrus scents created by a prestigious brand and packaged in a decorous and heavy bottle, you might find a lot to like in this Burberry Brit Splash.
Myself, I think I'll stick with my cherished Crabtree & Evelyn Sienna cologne.
UPDATE: I applied more of this stuff before a night on the town a few days back -- this time, just one squirt under the chin instead of two under each cheek. Again I concluded -- I don't very much like the smell of this ODT (eau de toilette). I might keep the bottle, however...
There was no price listed for this product at the time I received it for review, so I cannot comment about cost and value. What I can say is the bottle I received was quite generous in size (almost 14 ounces), much larger than I expected, and should last a very long time. It has an atomizer on the top of he bottle, which allows for very light application. The bottle is attractive and looks just fine sitting on the edge of my sink.
This is a big bottle, and unlike some there Burberry products, this spray is easy to modulate so you don't get a huge spray. The only negative I can think of is that the cap is very tight a little difficult to remove, and because the bottle is so smooth, it sometimes feels like I might drop the bottle or fling something as I am pulling it off. Still, it looks nice. You see the Burberry design, but doesn't look stuffy.
I found this to be a generic modern chemical ozonic rather sweet fragrance, not very easily distinguishable from many that you can sample at Sephora. To my nose it has more in common with the scent of dryer sheets than the kind of fragrance I am drawn to. Very little silage, but it is quite long lasting on the skin. Fragrance is a very personal thing. For me personally it is not a match. Neither on me nor my husband. Your mileage may vary, as they say.
It is not too "metro" like a lot of men's scents that I have tried lately. It has a nice mild woodsy undertone that assures you it's for a man, yet still has a bit of floral/herbal sweetness in there. I find it a nice balance with a classic appeal.
It is very subtle. Maybe a little bit too subtle? This is subjective and some may like this. It seems to fade quickly as the day goes on and may need to be reapplied. For me in fact, I can hardly sense it after just a few hours, unless I use it very generously.
"Brit Splash is a bright aquatic fragrance, refreshing and invigorating. The modern scent features crisp rosemary, a watery accord and moss."
Elegant bottle with the Burberry plaid design styles on the glass.
NOTE: I don't know why my pics are repeated multiple time. I deleted a few times but it doesn't help. It must be a glitch.
