The Cabin X ONE is Hybrid Carry On luggage that lets you choose between the style and grace of a trolley or the agility and go anywhere ability of a travel backpack. The Cabin X's unique zip-out backpack straps allow the case to be convertible from a wheeled trolley to a backpack in seconds. Ultra-padded and backed in Neoprene for improved tactility, the straps are undone by pulling up conjoined parallel zips. This allows the backpack straps to zip straight out of the rear of the bag - no clips to undo, no flaps to fold down and no space-wasting storage pockets. It's a simple and modern solution. An Internal Compression Zone that helps you to compact more of your clothes into the same space within the bag and minimize their movement during transit. For easy unpacking, there's a Detachable Hang-up Packing Organizer that is easily unzipped from the bag and hung up in a wardrobe. This comprises of six 3D pockets together with a larger reverse pocket with an integrated fabric tie rail. A transparent toiletries pocket also ensures that your liquids are easy to remove for inspection at airport security. The tech compartment features padded pockets for both a 15 ½ inch laptop/Macbook and an iPad - these pockets are also fleece-lined for improved tactility when loading or unloading as well as an RFID blocking pocket to protect your contactless cards and passport from NFC scanning whilst you are on the go. A cabin case designed to fit, measuring 22x14x8 inches, the Cabin X is suitable for the hand luggage requirements of most airlines, and also features a detachable mini backpack complete with an internal iPad pocket that is suitable for the personal item/second bag regulations of most major airlines. This means that you can keep your valuables close to hand whether you are on board the aircraft or exploring your destination

The extendable pull is just a little to short for me ( 6ft) but still usable. When using as a backpack it is a little hard on the back and I ma not sure I would want to carry it for more than an hour without some additonal padding.
The backpack strap access is brilliant with the ability to zip them out or back. The only downside beinhg the waistrap which drags on the floor if you forget to push it back in (I think this should be deleted or hooked up better).
There are plenty of pockets (sometimes too many if you are looking in a hurry) and it works well with both Laptop for work and for Ipad for holidays with the lined sections. On the inside the individual accesory pockets were very useful and the garment fixing did its job very well. The only real complaint would be the removable hanger section has the zip start point located on the bag hinge which makes refitting the zip very fiddly ( again some rethink needed on this).
The removable small bag works well and was great for keeping ipads and documents in so that it could used during the flight whilst the main bag was in the overhead locker. Refitting the bag was again a bit of a fiddle and I generally only used the 4 side units and didnt lock them off. I think slightly larger loops would make this easier. So small negatives but it wouldn't stop me buying the bag again and it is now my 'go to' short stay flight bag.
6 months later.
So when the handle on my first bag broke the day after getting it I thought maybe I was just unlucky, and since I liked the design of the bag so much, I returned it for a replacement.
The same side handle started going again soon after I got that one, but the top handle seemed more robust so I decided to continue using it but only carry it by the top handle. (I taped up the side handle).
Sad to report after about 6 months of use and less than 10 trips the top handle is now coming off too.
Durable this is not. Fit for purpose this is not.
Changed my review slightly.
While I cannot recommend this bag due to the issues with the handles, the company were very quick to offer me a no quibble refund on my purchase. So that's good, I guess.
At the airport I was asked to check it against the FlyBe test cage thingy, and it was a REALLY tight squeeze, I managed to get about 20cm into it (showing that it does fit) but then it got stuck and I couldn't get it out and had to ask the nice man behind me to yank it out. The flight attendants said it was fine and let me take it on the flight, but it was quite nerve wracking and I wished it had fit a bit easier.
Being a 'soft-cover' it is very easy to overpack this bag so watch out for that. I wish it came with external compression straps, this seems to be the main thing missing.
The strap design is by far the best thing about this bag, it makes it so quick to change from wheeled to backpack, and unlike other similar products, you don't HAVE to cover the wheels to use the straps so its very quick to change between (say when walking through airport then climbing stairs).
Lots of internal space and pockets - but like I said quite easy to overfill and make it too wide for airport restrictions.
Overall it's good quality and I really like it, but I would have preferred it be about 5cm smaller in all dimensions with compression straps and then it would be perfect.
I typically carry a laptop with power supply, dongles, headphones, iPad, 2x phones, chargers, backup batteries, business cards, and clothing, glasses, wash gear. The clever compartments and dividers make it so easy to ensure quick access to the right parts, and good protection. The transparent zipper pocket for liquids is genius; it is perfectly sized for an airport liquids bag, and it’s location at the top of the luggage ensures quick access at security. The zip and plastic pocket ensure any leaks stay inside the pocket. I also love the tie rack and zipped pockets for small items, as the whole thing lifts out and has an integral hanger for the hotel wardrobe.
The smaller under-seat hand bag is brilliant too. I used it on easyJet without problem. It holds my iPad, phone, Bose QC35 headphones, passport, and wallet easily.
The options to carry everything with a handle or straps is brilliant.
The first one I received had the tie rack/zip pocket section missing but Amazon replaces the whole bag straight away. Great service as always.
