My cats love this ball toy, However no grass seeds came with the item, maybe I didn't read the fine print correctly but I am pretty used to buying on ebay and I think it should have been spelt out more clearly. The toy in the middle isnt strong and my cats keep bending it over. I dont really mind about this as they do it when they are happil playing with the ball. Its a good toy , but you dont get any seeds.
When I was looking for a grass planter Catit only had the centre piece with a plastic mat around it. This new rendition actually makes the whole unit useful and the cats love it with the added benefit of a digestive aid. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because my cats have learned how to get the ball out of the track. The track needs a little more coverage to prevent it. But still a great product.
The cats LOVE the toys, and go totally bonkers for the ball. One of them actually eats the grass as well. The only issue is that the seeds that came with the package seemed old and rotten. When soaked, some of them started pussing white ooze, and I noticed during the second of third day of germination that there were teeny tiny little bugs crawling all over them. I tried to rinse the seeds well, which got rid of the bugs, but grass only ever sprouted through a handful of seeds. Had to buy new seeds to make it work. Recommend the toy, but buy the seeds separately.
Well the product itself is great...just maybe not the best for a 15 year old 3 legged, mostly toothless cat. He makes a bit of a mess as he pulls the grass and stuff out because he can't really chew it off properly, and he doesn't play with the toy part at all...the product is great though. Going to be gifting it to my bestie for a young rambunctious kitty with only warning g not to over water as it collects fruit flies inside.
Compared to other ball track toys, this one has a track that keeps the ball inside but still leaves enough exposure to allow my cat's paws to fit inside. The bee on the spring isn't her favorite toy but still manages to steal her attention every once in a while.
Considering I bought the item mainly for the cat grass the fact that the toy is a hit is a happy surprise.
I have not reviewed the cat grass portion yet as I've only planted the grass 2 days ago and am just seeing the beginning shoots. The design seems simple and effective, but my apartment does not get enough sunlight to keep it inside the toy. I currently have it growing on a window sill to ensure it gets as much sunlight as I can provide. Considering the comparable costs to other cat grass products the fact that I get 2 functional items makes it a good bang for buck item.
I received this product and soaked the seeds as instructed but most of them never germinated (it’s been approximately 3 weeks at this point) I have finally given up today and thrown them out before my cat was able to enjoy it. The reason I’m giving this a 3 star though is because the plastic container and ball toy came undamaged and as advertised (my cat did enjoy playing with the ball).
I love this thing because I had the catgrass without the base and my a hole cat tipped it 1000x. with the base hes distracted with the toys and hes not able to tip the grass. both of my cats also love 5he grass I've bought many refills and recommended to many pet owners
I was so impressed with this toy, it is very sturdy and made of good materials. The plastic is quite heavy (for plastic) and well made with a great center for the cat grass that is easy to use and tidy. My older cat is really happy and lays beside it batting the ball and attacking the bee as though she is a great huntress.
