This worked well for a week, but then it broke and no longer picked the stems out of the strawberry. I am disappointed because this seemed like a good product to have. I eat strawberries on a regular basis, but this product was unable to accommodate my needs. The quality was low. The metal piece to pick the stems out bent and could no longer pick the stems out.
Unless the strawberries you're using this on are extremely firm, the strawberries just collapse the moment you plunge this little tool into the middle, and it creates a big, sticky mess. This is great in theory, but it's just so much easier (and cheaper) to cut the leaves off with a regular knife and move on with your life.
Purchased this for strawberry season, used it about twice. Maybe I am just used to hulling berries with a knife, I can do it a lot quicker. This might be nice if you were looking to hull only a very few perfect berries, but for hulling quarts at a time, just stick to your paring knife.
I never use this anymore. I found it to be to time consuming and wasteful. I use a melon ball carver now and it works 10X better. I just insert the point of the melon ball carver and make a circle around the stem and out it pops. This looks "cute" but other devices work better and faster.
Works as promised. It gets the pit out of the strawberry pretty easily. The reason why i dont like it as much as just using a knife is that it seems to take longer. I went back to a knife because it was easier and faster.
