Also, to my surprise I recently learned that the thread of the bottle is the same as any Coke/Sprite/Seven Up bottle, so instead of the small 11oz container I'm using a 16.9oz Sprite bottle. The Guinea Pigs like the sugary drink much more than water... just kidding. Rinse well.
Please note that this also poses a health concern for small animals, such as rabbits, that need a constant supply of water.
I've tried other water bottles for our buns these past few months, and this is by far my favorite. Even my 4 year old (who is technically the adopter of the bunnies) has no problem refilling the bottles each morning and evening. I recycled/tossed out all the others.
Never buying another brand -- ever!!!! This is the bottle for us for life!!! Buy it!!!💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
P.S. - Each bottle come with a mount for both a wall or a cage. As you see in my pictures, it is mounted to the wall, but behind the mount on the other side is a screw opening that fits the plastic screw on mount for the cage. BOTH are the same easy to clip in and out, cage or wall. And you can mount the bottle inside OR outside the cage (with the nossle going thru the bars, or completely inside the cage!)
WAY TO GO GUYS!!! GREAT PRODUCT!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💯
I am exchanging this particular sized Choco bottle for a more narrow bottle/nozzle of a similiar type because after very careful observation, my 6 lbs. toy breed (Chihuahua) doesn't seem to have the jaw/tongue strength to push up the ball bearing consistently to get water from this, which is concerning. Even though it's advertised for dogs of this size, it's too much for her. It is a pretty thick water nozzle...on the other hand, it could just be my dog. Regardless, I am playing it safe to avoid any chance of dehydration and downgrading to this extremely similiar bottle instead---"Pretty Purple Pet Water Dispenser Bottle by SunGrow - BPA free, Rust proof, Leak proof - Dripless stainless steel pipe - Keep puppies, cats, bunnies and other small animals hydrated: Easy to Install."
My poor bunnies were both trying so hard to get the water as they hadn’t gotten any in a day (bad monitoring on my part).
After this happened a few more times after refilling the water, I kept the water bottle in the cage but offered my rabbits a bowl of water as well. Even after I had fixed the ball bearing, they still preferred the water bowl, which makes sense as it is more to the way that rabbits get their water in the wild.
From now on, I am going to skip the water bottle all together and use a bowl. Of course, with a bottle or a bowl, water should be changed every day.
