I don't often post critical reviews, but these shoes are honestly not very comfortable. The heel rubs and the rubber soles provide very little comfort for someone walking around an office a moderate amount throughout a workday. They do look pretty good, but that's about the only positive I can find.
The shoe color was much different than pictures which while expected was a little too different to be pleased. Additionally, while comfortable and well fitted, the heel and sole material is the cheapest I have ever seen on a Cole Haan dress shoe. The heel is all cheap plastic/rubber with a fake plastic cover made to look like an actual leather sole like a quality dress shoe. I would not suggest purchasing even on sale if you are looking for quality dress shoes.
These are terrible shoes. I get blisters on the top of my big toe and back of my heel everytime i wear them.... to the point I cannot walk normally. I give them 2 stars because they look amazing and if I need to impress for a couple hours, I will wear them and endure the pain. Would NOT recommend these ever.
I order these due to my owning a few other Cole Haan shoes. And let me tell you that Cole Haan has taken a nose dive into the Chinese market quality. Granted, these shoes have style so their design team is great. The only problem is that the "leather" as they want to call it is as thin as Aldo shoes. Also, the leather is clearly bonded so they throw some sheen on it to make it look polished. I was willing to skimp on the non-leather soles and accept rubber soles if the shoes are of quality. Boy, was I wrong. For the price, (these were $180 at the time of me buying them) I much rather save a little more for some AEs and are guaranteed to get quality.
If looking to buy these shoes and you actually know anything about leather shoes, then I recommend pass on these. Or if you are looking for a stylish leather shoe in this quality, go to Aldo and pay 100 bucks instead of what they are asking for these. If these drop to around 100 bucks then get them. But at least Aldo shoes have leather soles.
I so wish I could give these shoes 5 stars because they're beautiful and stylish! However, unfortunately they rub my outer heels very badly and I've given them plenty of time to "break in" (a year). The rubbing is so bad that the material inside the shoe is actually breaking down in the spot where my heel comes in contact with the shoe. This should not be happening with $130 dress shoes. Also, I don't have abnormally shaped feet and have never had this issue with other dress shoes, aside from another pair of Johnston & Murphy's I recently purchased.
*Note: I usually wear a 10.5 but at the suggestion of other reviewers I got them a half-size smaller. The 10's fit nice and snug at first but by the end of the day I'm dying to get them off because of the heel rubbing.
