This is a limitation of a 32-bit operating system. In Windows, the Windows memory manager is limited to a 4 GB physical address space. Most of that address space is filled with RAM, but not all of it. Memory-mapped devices (such as your video card) will use some of that physical address space, as will the BIOS ROMs. After all the non-memory devices have had their say, there will be less than 4GB of address space available for RAM below the 4GB physical address boundary. MacOS X Tiger and Leopard are both 64-bit operating systems and will not experience this problem. Neither will 64-bit versions of Windows XP or Vista or Windows 7.

Great looking, great overclocking memory at a great price
Like the legendary Dominator, enthusiast-grade Vengeance DRAM is designed for stability, stringently factory-tested, and backed by our limited lifetime warranty. And, we know that great looks are as important as great performance. This is why Vengeance modules come in a variety of colors to match your components and let you build your system just the way you want it.
Superior overclockability through careful screening
Overclocking your components can be a fun and rewarding way of pushing your gaming PC to its performance limits. Vengeance can help make this happen. Before each module is assembled, the DRAM chips are individually screened not only to ensure reliable meeting performance specifications, but to allow generous headroom for stable overclocking.
Optimized for Compatibility with the Latest CPUs and Motherboards
Vengeance memory is designed specifically for the latest CPUs. Vengeance modules are available in 1.65, 1.5V, and 1.35V configurations for maximum compatibility with all Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, as well as the 2nd generation Intel Core processor family. With dual channel, triple channel, and quad channel kits, there's a Vengeance configuration that's perfect for your motherboard.
XMP Memory Profile for simple, safe overclocking
Vengeance memory supports the Intel XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) standard, and each module is individually factory-programmed with an XMP profile indicating supported timing, frequency and voltages. Just enable XMP on your compatible motherboard and you'll automatically get optimized memory overclocking without having to deal with multiple BIOS settings. Of course, if you're an experienced overclocker — or an aspiring one — you can adjust the settings to push for even higher performance.

I spent three months on and off checking up on motherboards, memory, cpu's, and cpu fans.
I found a motherboard capable of 32 Gb of ram, although I did not want that much right away.
I also found the Corsair CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10 Vengenace 16GB 1600MHz CL10 DDR3 Memory Two Module Kit.
Although I had never used Corsair before, the many write ups that I read said they were good.
The two module 16GB was also perfect as it used only two of the four memory slots on the MB. This will allow me to get a second identical kit later when I am ready to upgrade and increase the Ram.
The PC is running extremely well, and I no longer have to click and wait for something to happen. Now it is click and the next page, program, or whatever I am doing is there. I am not a gamer. I use the PC to manage an online company, run support and write not only articles but websites using code not page makers, and the memory combined with the processor( an i7) and motherboard make a fantastic difference to production.
So this memory is not just for gamers it is great for all users of PCs.
Which I am. And have no regrets, these 16GB beasts handle anything and everything. My other PC building friend bought 32GB of ram. And I hate him because it's really annoying.
- Handling huge photoshop layouts
- Moving enormous files
- Never worrying about not having enough RAM
- Annoying your friend who has 8GB (Screw you Tam)
- combing your hair
Really pleased with my purchase.
Come pretty quick.
Tested them and they both work "Corsair 16GB (2x 8GB) Vengeance DDR3 Memory Module Kit - Blue"
Look amazing with the rest of the blue in my build
One little dislike with myself was they was "Dropped" through my door £100 dropped
on the floor to me isn't good but apart from that. Amazing

You will obviously get better results if partnered with a good processor, motherboard and graphics card as well as an operating system that can take full advantage of this much memory (Windows 7 64 bit is what I'm using)
Fit ever so easily into my motherboard and with the heat spreaders I know my P.C. will not overheat because of these beasts of RAM
Not the cheapest brand of memory but if you can spare the extra few £, it is worth it.
I was using 2x4GB Corsair Vengenace for a few years before deciding to upgrade, and I knew that I'd go straight to Corsair to do so. The price difference isn't that large between 2x4GB and 2x8GB now, and is more than worth it.
As always, very easy to install. Only suggestion I can think to give is not to push down on the heat spreaders when installing the ram, as you don't really want to crack them from pressure.
