Wes Anderson's comic Indian road-movie, set on a train, follows three brothers on a road-to-nowhere as they try to bond with one another after the death of their father. Trying to rekindle their sibling affections, Francis (Owen Wilson), Peter (Adrien Brody), and Jack (Jason Schwartzman) Whitman travel across India to meet up with their mother (Anjelica Huston), who has forsaken western life to become a nun in the Himalayas. Along the way, the hapless brothers fall victim to a range of mishaps, involving, among other things, pepper spray and an unhealthy fondness for pharmaceuticals, as their well-intentioned trip spirals out of control.

I was disappointed the scene scouts had not done a better job. The actual Darjeeling railway was perhaps too complex, small, too tight in every way for a big film crew and logistically challenging. But what about other more scenic areas? And the other issue I struggled with was some of the gratuitous language and behaviour, even allowing for an attempt at stupidly dysfunctional.
That said I came away entertained and impressed. Not many others in this genre, it will stand out in the annals of cinema and has a place in my DVD librbary/
RECOMMENDED... er... yup, OK that's a yes then.
Sure the plot is believable and the locations good but too much of it grated especially Owen Wilson who i have never liked watching save for 'the Woody Allen Paris film, ditto Jason Schwartzman who makes me just want to give him a slap! also found the Hotel Chevailer short totally irrelevant also the sex scene with the train girl . The only bright spot was the acting of Adrian Brody always good to watch he was also superb in 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' and the under used Anjelica Houston
Sorry Wes nice try !
