Asus Laptop - Windows 10 - 64 bit - USB Type C connection to hub
Out of the box, all USB HHD's, peripherals, and wireless mouse worked, with no setup. Cool!
Plugged in sound, and it was very choppy while doing anything on the computer.
Plugged in secondary monitor via HDMI connector, choppy, flashing screen every 4 - 5 seconds.
Went to the DEll website, and installed the firmware upgrade and the Dell Display Link drivers for this specific Docking Station.
Restarted computer. Everything works perfect.
Sound working, no matter the load on CPU
HDMI monitor working with no flash or desync.
Praying it works on a 3rd monitor when I get one!!!
Since I purchased this docking station, I had nothing but problems with it. I have two Lenovo monitors and a Dell laptop connected to it. The monitors are connected to the DP ports. Several times per day, each day, the monitors freeze. After that, all the applications are transferred onto the laptop screen. I need to cycle power on the docking station to get the Lenovo monitors operational again. The docking station has the latest firmware and all the drivers including the ones for the monitors and video card are up to date. The laptop has 16GB of memory. Think twice before buying this product.
The seller was prompt and I got this product delivered home the next day. Good job!

I use this with my XPS 13 9360 with Ubuntu 18.04 installed. I have two HP monitors running through the DisplayPorts. The first problem I had to solve was that I needed to install the DisplayLink drivers for Ubuntu. That wasn't too difficult, and once I did the monitors lit up. Unfortunately it seems like the DisplayLink drivers take up a notable amount of my CPU resources.
Then I had a problem with the monitors randomly disconnecting every hour or so. The solution was to turn off audio suspend. Comment out the line "load-module module-suspend-on-idle" in the file /etc/pulse/default.pa and the problem stopped.
Everything else works exactly as it should.
Only a couple of little things:
1. The USB-C cable that goes to you laptop is hardwired into the unit, not necessary a bad thing but makes it a single point of failure if it breaks
2. Powerbrick is one of the old-school dell laptop plugs - I mean the big suckers that if you needed something for self-defense you could swing it overhead and it would great as a mace
Heads up watch the compatibility lists, I've a few friends buy this on my recommendation and then complain it doesn't work with their laptops. Standard caveats - make sure your electrical output matches your laptop, make sure your device has the right specificaiton of USB-C, etc. it's a dock not magic. If you machine doesn't have the right USB-C port this won't magically make the display work.
