I know that this is supposed to be a review about the product only but I also would like to highly recommend DSLRKIT as a seller. Very helpful indeed!
There is only a minor con: in case of using 3 AA batteries, it is very hard to take the first battery out.
Solution: File or using dremel tool to grind ONE small crescent moon at the top edge for taking out first battery.
I'm using these for battery-operated musical equipment, and do not plan to store the batteries in the devices for long periods. My plan for using these well (and safely) with multiple AA cells in each adapter is to only use matching batteries in each adapter. This is because the batteries installed in the adapter will immediately attempt to charge and discharge each other until they are all equally charged. I am using different types of AA cell (some older Sanyo Eneloop and newer Panasonic Eneloop) and am carefully making sure that each AA cell is fully charged and is the same model number (not just the same brand.) When I install the three batteries in the adapter, I then keep it on my desk for a while and check that no cells are heating before I install the adapters in a device.
Put 3 of them in each adapter and worked well in my UST 30-Day LED Lantern WG01457-BRK UST 30-Day Lantern
Even worked well in all my old 3 & 4 D cell Maglites, which I converted to LED via this EBLCL bulb EBLCL CREE LED Bulb for Maglite 3D 4D 5D 6D / 3C 4C 5C 6C Cell Torch Flashlights Bulb Upgrade
For the ones that may not know, the reason for this is the milliamp hour rating of the individual cells. A "AA" cell milliamp rating is far less than a "D" cell. If used in a flashlight for example it would be just as bright, both being rated at 1.5 volts, the run time of the "D" cells would probably be 3 to 4 times longer. Therefor the advantage of using multiple cells in the adapter versus just one.
Please put the same number of cells in each adapter that is being used in a single device.
Will be doing some field testing later when out boon docking. These will be quite a convince as it is much easier to get AA batteries that D cell batteries pretty much anyplace on the planet.
I stumbled across these and decided to try them. 3 AA's gotta be better than 1 right?
I use primarily Eneloop batteries. I got some Amazon Basics also. Can't tell you what version the Eneloops are cause I have many of them. But they all fit just fine. Some are snugger than others.
I can see the tightness of some of the batteries being a small issue when trying to get them out but it's been a week in a half since I've had to change the batteries so it's totally worth it.
For me these things work great.
I wasn't paid, asked or given anything for my review.
