These socks are the best! Really worth $30. They feel cushioned/thick but don't make my feet overheat. Gave a 4 on durability because they are starting to pill a bit, but no holes yet. I wear these with my Blundstones because all my other socks start slipping, these ones stay on and up. I have 7 pairs now.
I initially balked at paying $20+ for a single pair of socks. I ordered a pair for me (size 9) and a pair for my husband (size 16) and I'm now completely in love with these socks. They are comfortable and so soft! The thickness doesn't make my feet sweat at all and they're perfect for wearing with my hiking boots and my heavy work boots. They're also the best performance sock I've found for my giant-footed husband. Worth the money and I'll be buying more pairs. I didn't see washing instructions included though. I know they're merino wool so I erred on the side of caution and HAVE NOT put these in the dryer.
Nice but they do make my feet hot when the weather warms up. But SO much more cushion vs a regular Hanes sock. This was my first pair of "fancy" socks and I will most definitely be getting more. Much more comfortable when standing/walking all day, or even just walking around the house without shoes. SO MUCH SQUISH. They colors were lovely. Does not loosed up after one wear like most socks do. Stays in place. I love them. I wear an 8.5 wide and the fit was great. Does not squeeze my ankles are leave marks when I take them off. Just a nice, attractive, soft, well fitting sock that stays up. Win!
I jumped in and purchased 7 pair of these socks for a two week hiking trip. I was so disappointed at how much they shrank, I would have sent them back if time was not an issue. The tops are not as high as the picture shows and they slide down in hiking boots, they were not as soft as I had expected either. I have been use to alpaca socks.
I purchased these socks with the intention of testing them in preparation for the Camino de Santiago trip in 2022. I tested these during a recent trip to Yosemite, along with the Injinji socks with the liner, and highly recommend the Darn Tuff socks, hands down!!! The socks are made really well and have a great amount of cushion for the bottom of your feet. I was also impressed that I didn't feel the toe seams. Can't wait to invest in additional pairs!
At first I didn't like these socks because they felt too tight around my ankles, but after wearing them a bit, I think I've broken them in (or gotten used to them). I am absolutely positive that these are the best socks I've ever owned. I'm wearing them right now. They're my favorite. When I walk outside and step in a puddle, my feet do not get cold when they get wet. They're worth the money.
Expensive socks, but extremely comfortable and very well designed. I have only taken them on a couple of short hikes and love them. Hope to test them out on some longer ones and see how well they do there!
One thing I would say is that if you have feet that sit on the border of two sizes (eg. I have size 9.5 feet) and don't like socks being too tight, go with the bigger size. I made that mistake and will buy a size larger next time.
Bought these for a week-long hiking vacation in South Dakota. Socks have a great fit, wash well, and are comfortable. Bonus, they matched my hiking boots. They did not slide down and stayed in place while hiking. Love them!!
i got few of these socks few years ago for the first time. they were nice and thick, which made them perfect for hiking in cold winter weather. I decided to buy few more recently. the new ones are thinner than the old ones and doesn’t feel as much durable . I wish they kept the quality the same. :(
