As a pianist I was instantly looking for my Hanon Exercises equivalent when I took up the harp and found numerous sources recommending this book.
I'm very glad I purchased it well thought out and will help the technically minded get a good feel for technique to build a solid foundation on basic harp playing technique. I love it and when I finally managed to get a proper lesson (online thanks to lockdown) my teacher was delighted that I'd purchased and started learning from this book.
From the perspective of an advanced musician playing level 8 piano taking up the harp for the first time as a beginner this book is a really solid choice.
I've given it four out of five purely as it's not quite as good as the hanon exercises themselves but it's the nearest thing if you're learning the harp.
Recommended! Hope my humble two cents is helpful to some other aspiring harpists out there.
Very quickly gets you into practicing your skills. However this is a little too advanced for my level at this point. Perhaps in about a year it will all make sense. But for those who actually know what they are doing, I can see how this book will work.
Most teaching material out there contains scales and arpeggios, but this book goes well beyond, with this book like all books you have to open them and use them to gain anything, this book will challenge you to be a better performer and you will be.
