Update: Still so incredibly happy with this mask, and my skin only continues to get better...I have recently been using only the green and white light, as the green is for hyperpigmentation and also reduces red marks, but have also noticed that the green light seems to speed up the healing process quite a bit after I had a horrible breakout caused by a face wash that I had used. I am horrible about keeping my hands off my face during a breakout (picking) which, obviously, turned a bad situation into worse, but did the green light mask 3 days in a row and made the healing process so much faster, and now use the green light to help get rid of the redness that the breakout caused. Can't say enough good thinks about this thing!
I absolutely love this product it definitely is helping my skin in such short amount of time already! No acne products ever helped me what’s so ever ! They would always break me out I am so happy I found this ! My confidence is boosting up again ! I highly recommend!
I have type one rosacea and have found the yellow setting reduces flushing. I have also been able to use the red setting with success. I use the red for 15 minutes and then the yellow for 15 minutes, 30 minutes total. Avoid the white setting with rosacea. I felt like my skin was on fire for about a day afterward.
It has also helped to reduce my hyperpigmentation and is lightening the melanin under my eyes.
My only complaint is that the mask should come with medical lighting goggles that are designed to fit with the mask. The company is risking a lawsuit by not providing goggles with the mask. The first time I used the mask, I just closed my eyes. It gave me a terrible headache and blurry vision. After that, I used cotton balls over my eyes but still had issues with blurry vision after using the mask. Took almost an hour for my vision to return to normal. I finally started using three cotton balls per eye, and it seemed to help.
I will try and use this devise and leave a review for the actual usage. But for now, buyer beware!!!!!
Anyways, I’d done a ton of research and found that LED lights were scientifically proven to work (in a dermatological setting; not necessarily with take-home masks). That being said, I decided to try it and bought the cheaper one from Neutrogena. I started seeing results but also dismissed it as coincidental. With continued use, I couldn’t deny that there were subtle changes occurring, and I decided to go big or go home and I bought this product - 7 colors, 150 LED lights, no buying monthly disposable pieces. I figured after 3 months of use, it would already match price-wise with Neutrogena’s $30/month disposable piece.
So far, I’ve been using red light for 10 mins, blue light for 10 mins, and purple light for 5 mins nightly. The mask is a bit heavy and takes a bit to adjust to your face and settle in right, but you quickly get used to it. But I’ve seen definitive improvement.
Let me repeat that: I HAVE SEEN DEFINITIVE IMPROVEMENT. I have not had one new pimple since I’ve started (5 days ago). My redness and inflammation has gone down. I am able to put on makeup and trick people that I have clear skin ;) [i.e., I don’t have bumps, scabs, or swollen areas, so makeup lays nice and flat abs gives me that genuine clear look I’m hoping to one day have naturally].
I am starting to use the green light as well. I don’t know much of the research behind green, white, and amber light, so I’ve been hesitant to use those colors. I’m also wondering if it’s possibke to overdo it with the LEDs? I want to use it twice a day - red/blue/purple at night for 20-25 mins and green/white/amber for 20-25 mins a few times a week in the AM.
ANYWAYS, bottoms line: I have seen improvement. And this is coming from a rationally minded, scientifically driven skeptic who often dismissed claims as social media hype. IF anyone gets to reading my above Q’s, I would love an answer!
The mask works well. The five intensity settings are easy to distinguish, and the seven colors work properly. I haven't had an issue with plugging the mask nor with the usb port on the mask. Looks well made. I like that the control has a timer as well. The light automatically turns off when 15 minutes is up.
My one major drawback is how heavy the mask is. Though the instructions do say you should lie down when using the mask, even when I lie down, I end up with marks on the bridge of my nose and around my eyes because of how heavy the mask is. The rubber part around the eyes is a little uncomfortable as well. I've used a few other masks with similar results that aren't as clunky and don't leave marks on my face after using it. This may happen to be because I'm fair and my skin is sensitive, but I thought I would mention it.
Overall, I do like the mask, but I'm waiting a bit longer before making my final decision about its functionality and worth.
I want my money back!
