I’m giving 4 stars because they were easy to put on but my cat hated them because she’s a brat. She chewed them and ripped them all off besides 3, she can’t get 3 of them off. We bought them because she tears up the whole house in the middle of the night.
These work great but My only issue is the glue tubes are one time use! That means I can only do 10 caps (20 if I do both cats, if I'm lucky) and that's it. Awesome, boy what if I need to fix a lost cap or two? I have one cat that is a vigorous groomer and tends to pop caps off early. That means I either wait for all of his caps to come off which could be a long time, and I am damage furniture in the house, which is the reason for the caps. Or, I have to open a new container of glue to replace 2 to 4 caps, and then the rest of the tube is wasted. It seems like a design flaw to me. Why not sell this product with a larger bottle of glue there’s a small tip on it it fits into the tips of the caps. You know, kind of like superglue sells it? Or even these Little bottles with just the pointy tips rather than having to screw these pointy tips on and then wasting an entire little bottle. If you can’t tell there’s some thing and rather annoyed about as I’ve wasted several small bottles and have lots of tips left.
other than that they work beautifully they stay on well and they keep my cats from scratching up the couch the carpets and the walls, which is the whole purpose for us getting them in the first place.
Exactly what is shown in the picture, and described.
My cat was destroying every scratchable surface in my apartment (brand new couch, my bed frame, my daughters box spring) and I refuse to have him declawed. But enough is enough. These have stopped the scratching but he is still able to use his paws.
Figuring out the right amount of glue is a challange though
These tips have been a lifesaver on my ESA (emotional support animal) while renting an apartment. She hasn’t been able to do any damage to the carpets or any other items despite her love for scratching and running around. Super awesome alternative to de-clawing and it’s very easy to maintain. My cat did hate it the first time I put them on her, but each time after that it got easier and easier. I’ve had them on her for 2 months now and I’ve only gone through 2 of the sets. I just replace them individually as they fall off and the front ones fall off about every month, the back ones have yet to fall off. The only downside is that they are very difficult to apply at first and she got some glue on her hair which was painful for her. Additionally, she hasn’t been able to get her back ones off yet and the tips of her nails have pushed through the rubber tips. But the rubber tips were an excellent purchase and I will buy again. Very easy to play with my ESA now and she does much better at giving cuddles now that she can’t scratch!!
I am a daily Amazon user, but this is my very first review. Please DO NOT purchase this item for your cat. I have put nails on my cat many times before, but this time, I tried this product from Amazon and it burned his skin (he never hisses, but 20-30 seconds after the nail went on, he meowed very loud and hissed). It was the glue!
I will go back to paying normal prices for brands like Whisker City and Soft Claws since those are actually cat safe products.
My cat hates me but it’s totally worth it. I’m shocked at the number of low reviews because they are difficult to apply. That isn’t the product’s fault.. cats are inherently difficult creatures and that’s why we love them. Milo was very mopey after I applied the nails. It took about 20 minutes to do 10 nails and he was squirming and fighting me the whole time... so considering they were attached to a cat I’d say that’s pretty darn good. I didn’t get my colors of choice but the price was so reasonable who cares?! Great product, great price, yes cats are difficult.
While I love that these prevent my little monster from scratching, I just don't think these are healthy for cats. After I removed the caps from his paws, a lot of his nails were really oddly thick. They did not look like regular cat nails, and I think the caps prevent their nails from growing normally. It just seems unhealthy.
The nails themselves are thick and allow for custom fit by triming. They do cover the nail completely and it is HIGHLY recommended to make a custom fit or these will simply pop off in a matter of days. They are not reusable. The glue is where I became unhappy. They include a single precision dropper with 4 glue tubes. The precision dropper is ruined after 1 tube and it doesn't have a lid so don't bother with it... Learn how to drip glue with the tubes. (Trim the tube at a steep angle to get a point) The nails do keep our cat from tearing the furniture but does not keep him from trying. Though no damage has happened thus far with his covered nails. Does come with a learning curve so be ready to make a few mistakes. It is a good idea to purchase nail nippers or a good pair of scissors to trim these... It's not included.
