While my kitten is a little uncertain about the new additions on his paws, I’m very pleased. This has made it possible for my sweet furry baby to sit on the lap of my younger son and my son isn’t scared of being scratched. I’m a happy customer. I was worried that it would be difficult to apply, but I was actually able to put them on my kitten by myself.
The colors are VERY pastel. They aren't bright and vibrant like a lot of other brands. The "green" looks like what those glow in the dark colors are like in the daylight, but it obviously doesn't actually glow. A lot of them are also kind of metallic, which I wasn't expecting.
Overall they're fine. They're cheap enough that I'll probably buy them again. But they're not the best brand out there. I have a black cat whose toes really pop with a bright color. These are much more subtle.
My second package also arrived with 4 out of the 5 exact same colors, so "random" appears to not actually be quite so much. Plus the package arrived open.
These work great but My only issue is the glue tubes are one time use! That means I can only do 10 caps (20 if I do both cats, if I'm lucky) and that's it. Awesome, boy what if I need to fix a lost cap or two? I have one cat that is a vigorous groomer and tends to pop caps off early. That means I either wait for all of his caps to come off which could be a long time, and I am damage furniture in the house, which is the reason for the caps. Or, I have to open a new container of glue to replace 2 to 4 caps, and then the rest of the tube is wasted. It seems like a design flaw to me. Why not sell this product with a larger bottle of glue there’s a small tip on it it fits into the tips of the caps. You know, kind of like superglue sells it? Or even these Little bottles with just the pointy tips rather than having to screw these pointy tips on and then wasting an entire little bottle. If you can’t tell there’s some thing and rather annoyed about as I’ve wasted several small bottles and have lots of tips left.
other than that they work beautifully they stay on well and they keep my cats from scratching up the couch the carpets and the walls, which is the whole purpose for us getting them in the first place.
Purchase for the MOST ADORABLE little kitten in the whole world, who doesn’t mean to claw everything (I think) and looks so dang cute doing it... he’s just hard to say no to, trust me!
Well, he’s destroying things as he approaches his 7th beautiful month on this quarantined planet, and while we love him to absolute pieces, the only “pieces” that are coming to true fruition are the ones being created... from his claws... on every imaginable surface.
These were purchased during quarantine and boy was I lucky that they came in only a couple days [THANKS AMAZON FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS] because his clawing has seemed to ramp up lately. I read up on all the how-tos and probably a hundred reviews from folks who’d gone through this scenario before us. So what we did was:
- wait for him to be fed and sleepy (he’s essentially a baby, so he sleeps after he eats)
- get him to fall asleep nearby or in my lap (easy, since he’s the biggest lover boy on the planet and has a homing beacon for our laps)
- massage his paws gently while loving on him the way he likes
- have another person available to begin the filling process, then tag team the nuzzling/capping/nuzzling/cooing/capping. Takes about 10 minutes, which is in all actuality a good amount of time when you’re just sitting there attempting this. Patience is LITERALLY the best virtue.
However, he was one of the many who immediately upon waking later was like WTF IS THIS ISH ON MY CLAWS OMG LET ME RIP THEM OFF WITH MY TEETH RAWR. But super cute-like.
In 24 hours they were all removed.
We now have a bag of 90 claw caps. Anyone want them? LOL.
Oh my goodness! These are awesome! My cat was really starting to use my furniture for scratching despite my efforts to provide cat friendly alternatives. I didn’t want to take his claws but trimming and filing wasn’t helping. So glad I found these!! They were pretty easy to put on, the cat doesn’t seem to mind them and it stopped the damage! They are very low cost by comparison. I put the first set on the day they arrived and not one has fallen off in two weeks. I’m sure we will both get better with the application process but these things are a total marriage saver for me, my husband was getting very frustrated with the cat, and now he likes him again! Woo hoo!
Got the package about 3hrs ago. Opened it up read the instructions which had both pictures and words. I cajoled the cat into the bathroom for nail triming time with a couple of treats.
Trimmed nails and popped these on.
Didnt put one on the dew claw...so 4 per paw. Total of 8. The cat took fairly well to them, licked her paw for a few minutes. Flicked her tail a couple of times. After determining she could walk, was comfortable, and was safe with these; i let her out of my bathroom.
I gave my typical reward of gravy ladened wet food...which she deemed acceptable and gobbled it down.
Three hour follow up.... The cat is in her usual spot. She demanded 30sec additional petting during a call and has promptly passed out in her sunny spot for a cat nap. 7/8 remain on her toes. The one i wasnt sure i put on right is missing.
Haven't herad her clawing my pleather furinture or tearing up the carpet....so far this is an improvement.
I have 4 cats that tore up 4 sofas so I needed something to prevent it from happening to my new sofa set and this works ok some tips broke off and because of the glue it’s still stuck on the nails but it still protects them from scratching
Exactly what is shown in the picture, and described.
My cat was destroying every scratchable surface in my apartment (brand new couch, my bed frame, my daughters box spring) and I refuse to have him declawed. But enough is enough. These have stopped the scratching but he is still able to use his paws.
Figuring out the right amount of glue is a challange though
These tips have been a lifesaver on my ESA (emotional support animal) while renting an apartment. She hasn’t been able to do any damage to the carpets or any other items despite her love for scratching and running around. Super awesome alternative to de-clawing and it’s very easy to maintain. My cat did hate it the first time I put them on her, but each time after that it got easier and easier. I’ve had them on her for 2 months now and I’ve only gone through 2 of the sets. I just replace them individually as they fall off and the front ones fall off about every month, the back ones have yet to fall off. The only downside is that they are very difficult to apply at first and she got some glue on her hair which was painful for her. Additionally, she hasn’t been able to get her back ones off yet and the tips of her nails have pushed through the rubber tips. But the rubber tips were an excellent purchase and I will buy again. Very easy to play with my ESA now and she does much better at giving cuddles now that she can’t scratch!!
