This leash passed the test. I have a 100 lbs husky/newfoundlander dog who forgot he was tied to a park bench and decided to run full speed at a squirrel. The leash is 6 feet long which provides ample time for acceleration. I was worried the weakest link on the leash would snap but it held strong and stopped my dog dead in his tracks. I examined the leash for damage and found none. My old leash would have come undone at the stitching, based on my experience.
I also like the 6 foot length because it is long enough that can be wrapped just under the jaw for when you need to keep your dog close (children running around, etc). No burn as with nylon flat leashes.
This is the second time I have bought this leash. Liked it so much the first time, bought a second one for my new puppy. Very comfortable to hold and very durable. My dog is 23 lbs, although he isn’t big, he is strong. He’s a good dog, but not 100% trained, so when he sees something, he sometimes bolts towards it. This leash doesn’t hurt my hands when he tugs on the other end compared to a standard flat nylon leash; I don’t worry about losing my grip on it compared to a retractable leash.
My puppy was at 10 lbs when we started using this leash on him. It is lightweight enough that it doesn’t weigh him down and he can run around. The puppy likes to chew on this leash and I have not seen any signs of damage, granted he is a pretty little dog.
This is a great training leash. I've been using a silly retractable leash for my over-sized yorkie-poo, and this was an instant relief. My dog immediately responds to command exceptionally well with this leash. Great purchase and arrived quickly with Prime. And the vibrant blue and orange combo is nice and the rope is easy on the hands. Highly recommended and a must for your four legged fur baby.
This seems to be a pretty durable leash so far and it's definitely the best length (6ft). I'm a professional trainer and behaviorist, so only time will tell by testing it's longterm quality. Not as comfortable as a couple of others I use, but worth the purchase and a its color makes it easy to locate in my equipment tote.
This is a thick, sturdy, well-made leash with a pretty red and blue color. I have a Cattle Dog rescue who has destroyed about 5 leashes. He gets anxious when left alone, or maybe bored, so he rips apart any leash he can get his teeth on. I made the mistake of fastening the end of a leah to keep him in the back. Big mistake. He snapped it easily. He met his master with this leash; too strong to destroy. Highly recommend.
Feels very durable, we are still working with our puppy on good walking and not chewing the leash so it is helpful to have a longer leash so I can give slack when he tries to turn it into a chew toy, no resistance means it's not a fun game anymore. Hopefully it holds up but so far I am very pleased
