Reviewed in Japan on 5 May 2019Verified Purchase

Enjoying my latest Balinger book!

I already had Thomas' general and Christmas music dulcimer books and love them. I'm developing an interest in Bluegrass music and am equally delighted with this book. The only critique I would give is that as I'm exposing myself to new, unfamiliar tunes, it would have been greatly helpful to be given tempo advice at the top of each song.

Thank you for the DAD Mountain Dulcimer (Books)
Reviewed in the United States on 18 November 2019Verified Purchase
I have been playing the Mountain Dulcimer for around twenty years and having the tunes in a raw basic form in DAD tuning (current American standard) is absolutely great for beginners and vintage players. You have a book that will give you the basic tune and from that, ... you may add all the bells and whistles to beef it up or just let it be. It's all here: Guitar Cords, Lead Sheet, Lyrics, Key signatures. … All the greatest songs ever created started .... with a simple tune...

A Beginner + book.

Good selection. Since many of the tunes will not be familiar to many it may help to see if they are played onYou Tube - familiarity helps a beginner a lot.
