I had spent almost two years doing hobby soldering before trying this soldering wick. Glad that I did, as this solder wick has been the bomb. No issues with heat, my iron goes up to 450 F, and this wick sucks up solder almost as good as a pump. Recently I tried a different cheaper brand of solder wick which was a waste of money. I'm sticking with NTE.

The braid is thin so it's good for small soldering applications, sucks solder immediately with a good iron, you may need to tin the tip a bit to get thermal transfer to work quickly.
