Product description

If you are ever faced with a tricky screw with a ruined (badly worn) head, then these neji-saurus pliers will remove the screw with ease. Crafted in Japan, the neji-saurus plier's unique patented jaw groove and lip design, allows you to firmly grip a screw and simply twist it out (normal pliers would just slip off), the jaws can even grip & extract truss head screws (low-profile dome heads). The neji-saurus pliers will also extract custom/specialized and tamper-proof screws. The pz-59 jaws also have inter-meshed jaw grooves, which allows very thin materials (such as shim) to be gripped & held firmly. The pz-59 Neji-saurus RX pliers are intended for use on screws with head diameters of 3mm - 15mm.

5.0 out of 5 stars They work as advertised!

Yes, just look at the photo and read my tale of woe and salvation.

A few weeks ago I took the lid off the toilet cistern in my bathroom to repaint it. To my horror I saw that whoever put the cistern in fitted it with ordinary steel screws, and they were so rusty that the heads were crumbling and the cistern was in danger of falling off the wall. Water is heavy and a cistern contains a few gallons of the stuff, so rusty old screws needed replacing with nice shiny stainless steel ones pronto. I even had some suitable stainless steel screws in my supplies, so that was my very next DIY task.

That's when my long frustrating ordeal (hee hee) began. I tried WD 40 to loosen them, and when I started trying to unscrew the first one you guessed it, the head came off. Oh. Next I tried a screw extractor bit that has worked well in the past, but these screws were just too rusty and crumbly for it to grip. I just ended up with more rust particles in the bottom of the cistern. Yes dear, I'll get them out later...

I tried pliers, a genuine mole wrench and various other tricks but the screws would not come out. Not only that but the heads crumbled a bit more, leaving my cistern even more precarious. Honestly, I was nervous every time I flushed it.

I ordered these pliers and took possession today. Within half an hour of arrival I had extracted all three screws in the picture, now just look at them! Marvel at the Japanese engineering that went into the Engineer brand pliers. Well, I was impressed... My cistern is now held to the wall with the proper stainless steel screws that should be used to fit ANYTHING in a bathroom.

If you EVER need to extract damaged screws just buy them. Or buy them anyway just in case. They won't work every time but if you build a small collection of damaged screw extractor devices something will usually work.

I like them. They have silly decorative handles designed to look like robot limbs or something, but they are absolutely brilliant for extracting damaged screws. I keep looking at that picture and shaking my head. Nothing else came close to working, but my PZ-59 Neji-Saurus RX pliers got those screws out.

Couldn't you tell? I recommend them without reservation.
