-The locking nut is ultra grippy and strong and doesn't slip even at the high E 9gauge. I've used other varieties that actually slip!!
-Fender brand with the F is a gorgeous touch . Makes your head stock complete
-Price wise it's OK at 70$. Grover's are 100+$ cad. !!!
-holds tune very very well. That's the most important. I have replaced my stock fender tuners from my MIM telecaster. Those stock tuners are ultra loose and really can't hold a tune even after a short 2 song gig!!! Also when accidentally bumped , somehow looses tune especially G and B strings for me. These upgraded locking set is Rock solid. Well worth the upgrade for me for this reason alone.
-swaping strings is a cinch now. I like to align the holes downward toward the bridge / neck first. The pull the string straight thru and tug lightly for tension . Then hand wind and cut excess. Literally takes seconds per string. Amazing .
MIM telecasters should always come with these tuners stock!!! But I understand there are cost cutting measures with these entry level telecasters (as opposed to American telecaster)..... But at least fender can issue stock non locking tuners they don't lose it's tune so often....
This is quite simply one of the first upgrades you should do if you are looking to do something to do with your guitar.
