If you like science fiction which is well written, great characters and an creditable interesting consistent story line.

Then stop right now and grab the first book and spend the next week speed reading all seven of the series so far published.

Roll on for book eight!

Hopefully release sometime in 2021.

Honestly a disappointment after the earlier Praxis books which were quite capable military sci-fi page turners. The main antagonist may as well be made out of cardboard, none of the characters feel particularly challenged by the scenario they are in, it's stated outright that the outcome of the books main conflict isn't in doubt, and nothing happens to challenge this assumption (bar the obligatory toll of transparently doomed minor characters). Even the final "spoiler" event is massively telegraphed, (and seems to serve no purpose than to reset the status quo for another book), but the tactical "genius" characters do nothing to acknowledge or mitigate the risk. On top of everything else the primary protaganists selfishness and bad decision making have finally advanced to the point that I have no interest in following their story any further...

WJW is a tale-spinner like no other, and the latest instalment in his tales of the redoubtable Lord Gareth Martinez and the doubtful Lady Sula is no exception. The only reason not to buy and read his latest is if you haven't bought and read the other ones already. Handsomely recommended.
