High accuracy: uses 13 sensors to give accurate readings every time; one-step operation: just press the button; when placed on wall LED lights instantly indicate studs; deep sensing: more sensor pad area than other scanners results in deeper scan; triple accuracy technology analyzes and triangulates data from all the sensors for highest accuracy; Built-in bubble level makes this 2 tools in 1!
From the manufacturer
Franklin Sensors Inc. Worlds Best Stud Finders
After owning multiple top-of-the-line stud finders and being disappointed with their functionality and accuracy, We at Franklin Sensors knew we could do better. In 2009 we set out to create a stud finder that functions more accurately, quickly, and easily. The result – we now have 8+ patents allowing our better technology to create better stud finders.
For the past five years, Franklin Sensors stud finders have been outselling the competition online and in stores around the world.
Unlike conventional stud finders which use only 1 or 2 sensors, the Franklin Sensors ProSensor 710 uses 13 sensors simultaneously to detect studs. This multi-sense technology eliminates the calibration step other brand stud finders require. Just put it on the wall and press the button. It's quick and easy.
The ProSensor 710 can detect multiple studs simultaneously. It accurately displays the center and edges of a stud at the same time.

The design also makes it super quick to mark both sides of a stud rather than slowly sliding it along to find and mark each side. You can even use it to immediately mark where the screw should go instead of having extra marks on the wall.
Two small negatives are that the spirit level on my unit is not accurate and that it has inch measurements on top. No one measures in inches except apparently the US. Personally I don't care about these issues because I have other devices for levels and length. My suggestion to the manufacturer is to remove the spirit level and inch measurement and then you have a brilliant device that is suitable for the rest of the world - which is metric.
This device's method of stud finding is simply excellent. There is no calibration (it does that based on the average of what it reads across the sensors). You press the button, hold it to the wall - and it just works.
So my advice is:
Ignore the spirit level.
Ignore the inch measurements on top.
Just buy it.
I didn’t want to hand it back.
My thanks to Amazon for shipping and delivering as fast as they did for the price.

On a simple stud wall it is 100% reliable. My problem was that some walls have plywood reinforcement or foil backed/fronted insulation panels and results are less easy to interpret.
That said I bought a TV wall mount from Sonus which came with a little magnetic stud finder (in fact finds the screws used to attach the plasterboard to the studs). To be honest it worked almost as well - you have to search around more to find the stud because you have to find the screws. But given that it was effectively free then it is difficult to justify spending £50 on a proper stud finder.
No stud sensor is perfect, but having this multisensor detector gives you some confidence as to where the studs are. Move this detector across a stud and three LEDs follow the position of the stud (see picture). Even if you see a glitch on one LED it's still clear where it is. On a single sensor detector, all you see is the glitch.
All the types work well in ideal conditions, but those conditions are rare in the real world. Before buying this replacement, I thought I'd try a magnet, which was time consuming but OK, until I came across an invisible stud (no screws or nails). The ape that put up the partition used Gripfill as the stud was undersized!
This stud finder doesn't include a voltage or metal detector, but the separate voltage detector I use is more reliable than any combined unit I've tried.
Its reliable, easy to use and well made.
I also use a magnet when checking for screws along studs.
Easy to use.
Invaluable tool to me.
Gives a lot of irregular and confusing data-
I think I’ll get a different product
I used it mostly to find floor joists under 18mm flooring, is I could screw the floor down to stop it sqeaking , it did function that easily
