To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I had high hopes for this little guy--probably too high for something that's a factory reject. I wouldn't have minded if it were just the fact that the spots on his stomach were off center, or that the backing plastic from the embroidery was left on the outside so I had to painstakingly snip it off. However, the overall quality is pretty bad. The fur is out of control--it covers up the features so it doesn't look even vaguely like the photo of the product. The worst is that the fur also falls out in clumps. Ah well... It was cheap, and I got what I paid for-- a grey, sort of lumpy thing that might look like Totoro if I squinted and tilted my head.
First of all, this doll was not a Gund toy. The label bore the Studio Ghibli trademark, but the quality was pretty bad. He came with a little leaf packet sown to his hand, which immediately fell off. Also the toy is rather lopsided in the face and the eyes were pretty crooked. There wasn't time to send it back as it was a Christmas present to go with a copy of the movie.
