A decent shirt, but what a smell.

It's just a t-shirt, and the quality so far seems ok. But it has been treated with some kind of Febreeze-type of smelly stuff. Maybe some people like that smell, but I can't abide it. So the shirts have gone straight into the wash before I've tried them on. I sure hope that stink washes out.
Ok, the next day. I unwisely washed the smelly t-shirts with a few other clothes. Those clothes and the laundry room soon had that horrible, chemical smell of Febreeze. I ran the lot through the washer four times, with extra rinse cycle selected. Reduced the smell, but did not eliminate. Everything now hanging on the clothesline in the sun and wind which hopefully will reduce the stench further.

Love these shirts, wear them for work all the time so I started to buy them to wear at home too. Also note the Gildan "Ultra" (this shirt) is thicker than the "Heavy", I assumed the opposite until I read threw the spec's.

My wardrobe consists mainly of Gildan 2XL pocket T-shirts that I bought from a famous big box store. They were clearance priced, but I fell in love with them. When it came time to replenish my supply, I turned to Amazon. There they were! Almost! The product arrived in a plain plastic bag. The glaring difference between these and the ones I love? The Amazon packaged shirts had annoying tags, and are about 2 inches shorter and wider than the ones I am used to. I'm pretty tall at 6ft 2in and I carry a concealed handgun. Not with these. Now I am going to editorialize a bit and talk about fake products on Amazon. There are certain products I will no longer purchase here, such as water filters for my fridge, ZeroWater filters, and that sort of thing. Add Gildan pocket T's to that list.
