2.0 out of 5 starsGood if your dogs aren’t allergic to them

These are very well-made products that my dog was highly allergic to, as was I when I had been touching them. Not sure which element is the allergen but we both had such a strong reaction that I had to stop using them.
Cons: Simply Not working. Using these pads for training my puppy and the urine just sits on top and doesn't absorb at all. Double checked the sides (top vs bottom) and we are using them correctly according to directions. These do not absorb at all. The urine sits on top of the pad in a puddle like it's just on top of a garbage bag and doesn't absorb into it or "gel" up in the pad. When I pick it up, if I don't fold it up first, it drains off the edge into the floor anyways. I could put garbage bags on the floor in comparison to it's effectiveness. Pro: they are bigger than other brands I've tried so far.
I had purchased a different brand for my last puppy and had a bunch left so I put them out for the newest member. She was using them 100% of the time within 24 hours, I was ecstatic. When getting low I bought these Glad pads and it’s been like she’s never used a pad before to pee. She does poop on them but she pees wherever she is with these, no more mad dash for the pads. I’m having trouble locating my previous pad in the charcoal activated and I’m just hoping everyone is out of stock because they work so well. I thought about trying an attractant spray but can’t find one with decent reviews so it looks like I better wait to refinish my floors until next summer.
I decided to try these because I like Glad bags, so I figured these would be good. They are very thin and flimsy, not at all what I expected. Cheap quality. I know they are disposable, but I still expected better quality. Maybe the price should have been a clue.
I have been using the Martha Stewart training pads for years. They are thick and work pretty well, but they are not cheap. A pack of 100 small ones is $32.56 (as of 1/27/21). I've tried different brands, and found that these are the best, although, some of them do leak mysteriously in the middle of the pad. Not sure how that happens.
Our mini schnauzer puppy doesn’t go a ton each time but these pads failed to absorb even the little he goes. Every time I picked the pad up, there was moisture under it. It doesn’t absorb much and is really thin. The only thing these pads do is help with odor but even that is so-so. I really though these would be better than the Petco ones but these are terrible. I would never purchase these again. They are also really flimsy so when he walked over the pad it would shift and move around. I have cleaned the mess from these pads every single time, I may as well not use them and let my dog just go where ever he pleases. Save your money and home and buy a different brand.
At first I loved these... now I can't wait to run out of them so I can switch back to the cheaper white ones. You cant tell where the dog has peed on these, which seems great until your dog steps there and tracks pee across the floor. I prefer the white ones because its economical to cut off the used half or quarter and place the unused on top of a new pad. If they pee on the half portion or quarter, I just got 2 uses, or more out of a pad. Not possible with these which makes them even more expensive since they already cost more. I didnt find the charcoal helped with odor in any way at all. Removing the pee is the most effective.
For a puppy that is teething, these training pads are extremely thin and my puppy chewed right through them in one go. Rather, one nibble, and the pad is gone. It is super thin and doesn't seem to hold much and is not super absorbant as described. Even with a training pad holder, the training pad itself also does not serve its purpose, I would NOT recommend getting this if your puppy is teething and keen on chewing. Rather, I would just opt for an entirely different training pad as this one is super thin and does not serve its purpose. I had to change 5 pads in the course of 10 minutes because it broke, ripped, or leaked too easily
I was expecting puppy pads that are better then others I've tried based on the description. I'm disappointed. They leak trough just like other pads. The only difference is these are black so one cannot see the urine. I even stacked them hoping that would keep them from leaking through onto the floor. Not much help. I have two small dogs weighing less then 10 lbs each. I cannot imagine the mess a medium or large dog would make. I cannot recommend this product.
Horrible product. They claim theyre absorbent in 30 seconds, but my cat will pee on it and it just sits there. I'll see a puddle of pee and then lay this on top and then the puddle is still there when I pick up the pad. On top of that the pee soaks through the pad.
I wouldnt buy again.
They get 2 stars for product packaging and design.
I normally purchase the Kirkland brand training pads from Costco but they were sold out so I decided to try these for my new puppy. He used them sometimes but more often would go right next to them. I ended up purchasing the Kirkland ones again once in stock and he goes on them 90% of the time when not going outside. These ones he maybe went on 15-20% of the time. I gave them away to someone with 2 dogs and she said the same thing. So I do not recommend these.
I like the design and color of these pads. But they are small and don’t really absorb that good. The good thing is that they are stylish , bland with rooms in the house so when people come to my house it doesn’t bother anyone seeking these pads everywhere compare to regular white ones that will make a house look like a big doggy bathroom. But these black pads don’t do a good job of the main purpose. If dogs are peeing on them I’ll still have to clean pee under pads. But the price and quantity great.
