My guitar strap came off a number of times (where it is connected at the bottom of my guitar), and I was able to somehow catch it before it hit the floor. But I knew the time would come when I wouldn't catch it, so I decided to try these strap locks. I haven't been using the for long, but so far things are working out well. Time will tell if this is an easy answer to keeping a guitar strap I really, really like.
Actually I bought these to replace the one I used to stiffen the Volume control knob on my Affinity Strat. For those with Squier models and maybe even regular Strats you know that hitting the volume knob can throw the volume way off. I put one of these under the knob and it makes the knob harder to turn so that brushing it doesn't affect the volume anymore.
These are simple to install, they’re not even noticeable and I haven’t had my guitar strap come off since I put them on, so they’re doing the job. I paid $20 to buy strap locks for my son’s guitar strap and these were really all he would have needed.
these are simple and I think will do as good or better a job as the more expensive type. I had one of those come loose and the guitar get away from me. These look like they'll hold, and were super simple. Also, I have a lot of guitars, and not as many straps, so to swithc a strap from one guitar to another would be very simple with these, but not at all simple with the fancier strap locks
Every guitarist and bassist should use these all the time. They slip over the pegs after the strap is on, and prevent the strap from flying off during a performance. A real show-saver. Don’t skimp - get these for all your stringed instruments and use them.
The packaging was torn open and contained only one strap lock, but I talked to a rep and got it sorted out very quickly. Customer service with So There is fantastic, and the product does exactly what you want it to. I'd definitely recommend these to another musician looking for a cheap and easy fix for a finnicky strap.
I was lucky to make it without these. Don't figure on it though, go ahead and get them. They really tightened up the fit on the strap and it's so much safer now. I highly suggest if you are thinking about them better get them before disaster strikes.
I have used Dunlop, Schaller, and all of the metal straplocks that do wonderful jobs. These keep the strap in place, fit over the different fittings on different guitars, and make absolutely no noise. They are all easy enough to install and are also easy to remove. No tools needed.
These things are perfect. Inexpensive and simple. I suppose that a trip to the hardware store would accomplish the same thing for less money but, frankly, these are inexpensive enough and you don't need to rummage for the correct size washer. Love these. If you want something I expensive that works, try these
