Bought this as I had seen her perform on an MTV video and thought I want more lol. Unsure really some tracks were ok but like a lot of things, what's on the cover doesn't always match what's in the Tin (even though they use that in various Ads). I like the style of music and her voice just not sure there was a Full CD's worth of songs on there.

I want to make it clear that in my mind this is not country music. One mention of Hank Williams and Johnny Cash in a song, does not a country album make. However, it is an excellent CD. I don't know what genre it should fit into, R'n'B probably, but either way it is one of the best of the last couple of years. She a songwriter first and foremost and that comes across in the CD. Having heard her live too, she isn't playing it safe with the songs, she, a bit like Eric Church, just tries to sing it the best way she knows. Brilliant.

Professionally done by a very competent song writer but I felt that this was formula song writing. The songs are all the same length, the middle 8 arrives predictably and pretty much the same point every song. It's good, but you feel that it could be done by a computer. In fairness, Maren Morris has a great voice, but the songs didn't do it for me after the first 2 or 3.

First heard Maren Morris on youtube channel "NPR tiny desk concert" if you don't know it and like to discover new music then I highly recommend it. I think her sound falls somewhere in the Country/Rock genre, which isn't generally my cup of tea but something just grabbed me and I sought out this album which I believe is her debut and will be looking out for her next album when it's released in March 2019 (I think)

Great album - definitely worth a purchase if you're looking for some new country style music. I went for the vinyl to add to my collection and was not disappointed. A modern country album with hints of pop music with well written songs. Probably not for the person who enjoys old style country - but it is still worth a go.
